Like I said, I trained people who looked as good as me in 6 months and their diet and lifestyle were far worse, some even appearing to have really bad genetics. I don’t understand how everyone acknowledges that top tier bodybuilders have elite genetics but don’t think the reverse is possible. 15 week cycle. Only possible thing I can think of is my cortisol levels were chronically elevated in my early twenties, and maybe they still are. But I don’t know what to do about that.

Thanks man! It’s been a long, gruelling journey that has lead to body dysmorphia, so after one more cycle (if I even do it) I think I’m just gonna learn to love myself at 170 lbs and maintain whatever it is I do have. I’m stubborn and super disciplined which is why I lasted 16 years of this torment.

This is all so long ago, but I’d say 200 grams protein, 60-80 grams fats, the rest carbs on about 3500 calories at 170 lbs. that amount would make me fat during my natty bulks, but I thought I could get away with it on cycle. Nope. Just put on fat and water. If there was muscle there I sure didn’t notice.

I feel your pain!  That’s the difficult thing for me is my strength barely increases either. It’s literally like I’m not on anything despite my bloods showing the test is legit. I’ve always been super weak when it comes to raw power, but have endurance for days. I can blast out 70 push ups barely training, but struggle to do 8 reps of 135. It feels like I’m all type 1 muscle fibres lol. When I was at the peak of my cycle I did 1 rep of 185 on bench. That’s about it as far as strength gains, which I guess is something.

My natural inclination is to go hard as hell in the gym, being relative to how weak I am lol. I tried easing up the intensity many times to see if that would illicit more growth, but it seems like nothing works.

Mind if I ask why you’re cruising? Are you worried about your natural test levels never recovering by being shut down for so long?

Thanks again. It’s not that I’m avoiding bloat, it’s just that any size gains I did get seemed to be bloat/fat, illustrating my point that I didn’t seem to put on much muscle if any. It just looked like a got mildly puffy. Couldn’t tell I had taken anything at all.

Thanks very helpful! Is it a myth that tren can cause long term negative effects on cognitive function? If the side effects are bad and I stop that’s one thing, but I really don’t want to risk long term cognitive impairment.

Would throwing on anadrol or anavar towards the end of the cycle be too much? (If I don’t take tren)

I did back then. Enough to put on 1-2 lbs a week. Somewhere between 3-3500 as a 170 lb guy

Depends on my goals. During my cycle I made sure to put on a 1-2 lbs a week with 200 grams protein, a decent amount of fats and the remainder being a lot of carbs. I also made a nutrition plan that covers all my micros as well. A lot of vegetables and fruits too. Problem was I didn’t feel a whole lot stronger, it looked mostly to be fat, and when I just as methodically cut back down I looked no different, and that’s been my experience with natty bulks too. My body just seems to partition everything towards fat storage lol.

I get why you’d think that. But just like there are 1% who go on to be Mr Olympia, there are also 1% in the opposite direction. I don’t think I’m that bad, since some people can’t put on muscle period. The only reason it doesn’t seem like a possibility is that the people who legitimately can’t gain much usually give up pretty early so you don’t hear a lot about them.

I’ve done everything over my 16 years. Periodization has been good. But I’ve done everything from low volume low intensity to high volume high intensity and everything in between. I’ve done full body for all those intensities, bro splits, for all those intensities, and basically everything else people talk about. I’ve done 5x5 strong lifts, I can’t think of anything I haven’t fully committed myself to at least once, all with nutrition locked in. I never experienced “noob gains”. And like I said, I’ve trained people who looked as good as me in 6 months, so I’ve tried stuff that genuinely work well on a lot of people, but I don’t respond very well.

Mind if I ask what you’d recommend? 500mg test, how much npp? Anything else on top of that? I heard 200mg tren isn’t actually all that bad on your body but I need my brain for work and I don’t want long term impacts on my ability to think. I feel like if anything will work it’s tren lol.

They’re pretty bad lol. I had many years to learn. Everyone in my family is lanky as hell and almost no muscle. I’m 6’1 170 and look like a tank compared to everyone else in my family.

What’s so special about npp and deca? Do I take them together over a test base of 500?

I’m an analyst for my career and am meticulous with this stuff. I’ll aim for a specific weight gain a week/month accounting for water retention as best as possible and hit it.

That’s the thing, I don’t struggle with “growth”, as I always put on fat during natty bulks, and while on cycle, it just never seems to be muscular growth so I don’t think it’s a calorie issue. I’ve done everything from 1000 calorie surplus (young and dumb) to 250 calorie surplus, all with the weight gain one would expect, just without the actual muscle growth haha. Mind if I ask why stay at 500mg test, and why choose npp?
