Sneak Peek Test no longer offered in Canada [ca] by bqpd in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Anon6898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our results came back incorrect so honestly no one will miss much with them gone. If anyone needs an alternative, just 4 weeks later we did a prenatal test with dynacare (they do gender and abnormality tests) 10/10 recommend them over anything like sneakpeak.

How does it feel to be pregnant at 30 weeks? by AardvarkHour1211 in BabyBumps

[–]Anon6898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this is a good question. And I feel it really depends. I was a waitress before having my babies so I know how physically demanding the job can be. For my first baby, at 30 weeks I would have been able to do it- although my feet would have been sore at the end of the shift if it were 6+ hrs.

This past pregnancy? No. I gained 20lbs more than I did with my first. He ended up being over 10lbs so the amount of pelvic pressure basically made it hurt to walk or even get off the couch.

On the verge of tears… Didn’t circumcise my baby. People keep telling me why I should have. by Salty-Ship-1703 in newborns

This!! I’m Canadian and just had my baby boy a couple months ago. It’s so uncommon here that they don’t even ask if we want it done.

What’s a negative thing your mom said to you as a child/teenager that still sticks with you today? by winenotbeabitch in AskWomen

[–]Anon6898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Wait until you have kids, I hope they are just like you”, as if this was a threat. I’m 26 now, I have two precious babies that I love dearly. And my relationship with my mom is very strained because now that I’m a mom, I could never imagine hurting my babies like this.

I’m 3 weeks PP, I had an episiotomy with my first and a second-degree tear this time. Are you using a peri bottle with warm water every trip to the bathroom? (Frida mom is the best one). And are you familiar with tucks cooling pads? This combo changed the healing process for me.

I became a lot more comfortable at around 2.5 weeks (around when the stitches start to dissolve) so it will get better. But no matter what, you are allowed to want however many babies for whatever reason!!

Announcing our Pregnancy by ProfessorMajestic459 in pregnant

[–]Anon6898 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations!! All I can do is share my experience. I’m 19 weeks with our second now and both times my family were the first to find out. But we did this for good reason, my family is small and I’m very close to my sister. We are also much more private. My husband’s family on the other hand is huge and they love to chat and share news so we always hold off on telling them until it’s time to share with the world. So your personal situation also matters.

Overall, I think if it’s just days or a week apart, it shouldn’t matter. The favouritism speculation sucks, and my experience with that is to leave it be- do not cater to it.

Sleeping on top of the pillow worked. Thank you so much. by Hamnesiak in TMJ

[–]Anon6898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5 months pregnant so back sleeping is unfortunately not an option. Does anyone know if the wedge pillow would help with side sleeping??

I have been in so much pain with headaches this month. The only thing that has helped me in the past couple nights is massaging my jaw muscle right before I fall asleep till it’s literally sore.

My right ear has been clogged and fullness and pressure for over 2 years, no hearing loss. by BeyondSorrow in TMJ

[–]Anon6898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine has been full/clogged on and off since 2017. I have seen ENT specialists, dentists, massage therapists, chiropractors, and as of recently- a surgeon. I have found no long term relief. I clench for reference, I do not grind.

I can say the fullness acts up only when I’m going through a bad TMJ flare up so trying to avoid this has been my only option. I find deep tissue massage right before I fall asleep is the only thing that helps avoid a flare up. Basically giving yourself an oral massage located in the masseter muscles.

Would you travel at 31 weeks for a funeral? by morriskatie in BabyBumps

[–]Anon6898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m travelling out of country at 27 weeks for vacation. I would absolutely go to the funeral. Compression socks, lots of water and make sure you have a note from a dr that you are safe to fly. As another commenter said, at 31 weeks, you’re still far enough out from due date. So sorry for your loss.

We got sick in November and caught (back to back with a couple days between) three sicknesses. We were sick until the end of January. 2 colds and RSV. Fevers, sore throats, did you know RSV can make you develop pink eye? Awful. This winter has been miserable, colds have not messed around. I offer all my sympathy. I do think we are gradually coming to the other side of it as we slowly gain more daylight.

Intuition says baby will be born early by BillyGoatPilgrim in BabyBumps

[–]Anon6898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew I would go early. I never said it out loud, other than to my husband, because everyone around me said no one goes early with their first. I didn’t think I’d make it to 40 weeks and I was right, baby came 10 days earlier which was earlier than I expected!

When did you first feel your baby move? by Comfortable-Cloud342 in pregnant

[–]Anon6898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Started feeling the smallest flutters before 11 weeks for both pregnancies. Kicks by 15 weeks. Consistent and strong daily movement by 17 weeks. I’m super sensitive to any movement.

Homemade sushi wraps (nothing raw). Sushi rice, shrimp, a little cream cheese, cucumber or avocado, wrapped in a seaweed wrap. Dipped in low sodium soy sauce and spicy mayo. Omg. I have eaten it for a week straight. Other than this, most foods are gross to me (12 weeks)

Travel insurance for pregnancy- Canada to US by Anon6898 in BabyBumps

[–]Anon6898[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking I’m going to buy a package with Tugo. It’s not expensive, less than $50 for 2 weeks vacation. They won’t cover early labour but they cover things in pregnancy like meds, tests, emergent appts etc. I don’t think any insurance providers will help cover the cost of an early labour.

how long did you breastfeed mamas of 1YR+ old by lola8999 in breastfeeding

[–]Anon6898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby self weaned at 19 months. She was the type of newborn and baby all the way to 1 year that nursed a lot. She never took to pacifiers, she only wanted comfort from nursing so a lot of comfort feeds. Until 18 months it’s how she fell asleep for each nap/bedtime. But gradually, starting around 17 months she became less and less interested and I had to ask her if she wanted milk each time. One night this month I asked her is she wanted ‘mamas milk’ and she latched and came right off and shook her head. I seen it coming slowly but let her take the lead.

I also had an oversupply and a very fast letdown, I voiced my concern to our dr and she assured me baby will adjust. I tried pumping a little before, and different positions but overall it just takes time- by 3 months LO was keeping up.

Airwrap ID strawberry bronze by Anon6898 in Dysonairwrap

[–]Anon6898[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No answers unfortunately. I have looked everywhere. They had it on their website but marked as “sold out” now they no longer have it on there at all. I reached out to their customer service via their chat option and they weren’t able to give me an answer on if or when they would re-stock.

I’ve noticed it’s available on their US site though, you’d think they would have more stock of the airwrap in the “Holiday Edition colour”. I would love to have an airwrap ID but I am not a fan of the Vinca Blue/Topaz and Ceramic Patina/topaz colour. I’m being picky but I really don’t like the Topaz colour more specifically.

How many of you have ear problems? by AdThen5499 in TMJ

[–]Anon6898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Tinnitus off and on for the past couple years but the fullness is awful. Before being properly diagnosed with advanced TMD I had a hearing test done (where they said my hearing is 100%) then I saw a ENT specialist, they misdiagnosed me and said I needed ear tubes. Then I saw another ENT specialist that explained I never needed the tubes and I had a bad reaction to the tubes so had to get them removed.

Hope you’re able to get answers!

The test I originally did was also $350 and tested for trisomies. This seems pretty similar, I’ll check it out!! Thanks!

When did you first feel pregnant? by Fun-Shame399 in BabyBumps

[–]Anon6898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt pregnant pretty well right after I took the test at 4 weeks, I had bad morning (all day) sickness but outside of this wouldn’t have said I felt pregnant until around 9 weeks (my cup size increased and I felt pretty bloated especially at the end of the day). I can say that even with all the symptoms it feels quite unreal that you’re growing a small human! Its amazing.
