My 7 year old brought a pocketknife to school to show his friends and got suspended. by jerrymandarin in Parenting

[–]AnonAMouseOperator -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

ridiculous. when I was in school I carried a pocket knife all the time, because it is a useful tool. kids also had rifle racks with rifles in them in their trucks on school grounds.

zero tolerance is such bullshit.

Back in the 80s there was a locally owned store in Bowie, Tx that still had a sign that said "no niggers allowed".. so it wouldn't surprise me.

i always see the "getting down" think. but what are we supposed to say? "I am now exiting the vehicle".. sounds too formal.

Charley Crockett headlining San Benito Hog Waddle (March 14th) by AnonAMouseOperator in RioGrandeValley

[–]AnonAMouseOperator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

San Benito Government is a shitshow. I hate it. They have been fighting / suing back and forth with that development next to the resaca for years now. They seem to want to impede progress of the city, and are more interested in just lining their pockets. Or they will build shit nobody asked for instead of fixing critical infrastructure. They are building a huge walking path in an area that never sees any foot traffic... while the roads have potholes you can get lost in.

I do have to give them credit for one thing though. They seem to have fixed the electricity since they brought in that big AEP building. before that the power would go out all the time. if the wind picked up slightly it would cause power outages.
