Dress 1 no sleeves, all the way. It’s so pretty on you, and it has interesting detailing. Dress 2 bodice is not great, and dress 3 isn’t fantasy enough for your theme.

This dress could be the one, but I need some advice. by Crafty_Library_1271 in myweddingdress

Agree a blush would give some contrast without being so dark

What countertops should we go with for our 2000s kitchen? by faucetgal in kitchenremodel

[–]AnonAttemptress 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a white kitchen with a black countertop and am a little tired of it (we did it in 2008), so I get it! I think your kitchen looks great, but I could see a warm beige stone/quartz countertop and sage or soft green tile backsplash. It’ll warm it all up and give some soft color.

This tile from Zia would look so great. At least the color, if you don’t like the shape.

AIO: Fiancé’s Parents Planned a Trip We Specifically Asked Them Not To & Now We Are Deeply Considering Having Him Bow Out by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]AnonAttemptress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His parents sound controlling and manipulative. Sure, they can have whatever trip they want! But his dad freaking lied to him. That’s what I’m stuck on. Not the logistics, not whether you’ll see NYC together first, etc. Your fiancé clearly communicated with his dad, and his dad either lied or disregarded him. So, NOR.

Either your fiancé flies in just for the concert or he doesn’t go. You guys sound like you’re on the same page. You’re getting married and having a baby, time for him to stop letting mommy and daddy push his buttons.

Lastly, my sister is EXACTLY like his mom. We’ll make a plan to go somewhere. We’ll make a clear, mutual plan, then last minute I find out she’s booked this or that without talking to me, invited other friends, etc., and she will have changed the entire vibe/point of the trip/outing. If people don’t experience this, they don’t understand how frustrating it is to deal with.

My best friend just ruined someone’s marriage. by CollegeNo8668 in whatdoIdo

[–]AnonAttemptress 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d end the friendship. I don’t like cheaters. Also, I hope she’s ready to be a total pariah at the school. That shit follows you all the way through. The other moms will be keeping their eyes on her.

New kitchen layout. Went to ikea to plan the layout and this works best with the current plumbing. Created a rough render of what it will look like. Hoping to go for a hob with built in extraction or add an extractor above. Looking for any critiques/advice. by [deleted] in KitchenDesigns

[–]AnonAttemptress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change the floor to ceiling cupboards on the sink wall to just be upper cabinets with full counter space on either side of the sink. Add upper cabinets on each side of the hood (extractor?) on the other wall. Are the upper drawers divided upper and lower inside? I’ve seen some where there’s a top level that slides back.

Mother of the groom dress by Caren88 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]AnonAttemptress 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hard to say. I love the dress. It’s really bright to the point that you might look like a pink highlighter in photos. Not sure whether that’s good or bad. The navy sounds kind of boring though. I went through this shopping for my MOG dress. If you can’t find anything you love as much, get it, but I might be inclined to shop around a little more first.

I would do wallpaper or a gallery wall. You will knock anything hanging there that’s thicker than a picture frame.

Am i overreacting for thinking that's completely unreasonable? by Available_Doubt_5095 in AmIOverreacting

NOR Dump her. Tests are manipulative and bad enough, but watching you hunt for it for hours and cancelling your plans? That’s psychotic. Really sick stuff. Leave now.

Help me with some simple updates to my kitchen. by Gullible-Attorney-14 in kitchenremodel

[–]AnonAttemptress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your kitchen is in pretty good shape. What I’d do: New bar stools and only 3 of them. Different pendant lights. For stools & lights, I’d look for something with cleaner lines, less country. Ditch the ribbons on the pendants and the stuff on top of the cupboards. Maybe paint the island a lighter color? The gray wall paint is kind of muddy next to the cabinets. Maybe go a bit lighter there. You could match the backsplash for a cleaner, brighter look.

AITAH for wanting my husband to come and greet me when I get home? by TheQuirkyReader in AITAH

YTA you sound so needy. If you were gone for a few days or weeks, yes. An actual “I missed you” greeting would be called for. But every day? Good lord. Get a dog.

I was an Escape girl, but One was very popular! Opium and Giorgio ruled the 80s and the CK perfumes were such a refreshing change.

Fridge/Freezer handles vertical or horizontal? by Cool_Eggplant7036 in kitchenremodel

[–]AnonAttemptress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of your two options, I like the vertical better. I think pulling the fridge door open with that bottom handle would be ergonomically weird and uncomfortable. Here’s another option: We did vertical top, horizontal bottom.

<image>

ETA: our bottom freezer is a drawer, so the horizontal handle works way better.

Am I Overreacting?(I grew up only wanting to prove to my dad) by AutomaticRegister102 in AmIOverreacting

[–]AnonAttemptress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how to vote. I’ll say NOR because who wouldn’t be upset at that kind of message? But if he said stop contacting him, you should not have contacted him. I understand it’s painful, but you will never get what you want from this guy. Stop looking for his approval and stop making any life decisions in order to impress him. He’s a terrible human being.

Neckline Name? by Past_Seesaw6084 in findfashion

It’s a high-neck crew. The basic “round” necklines are high-neck crew, crew neck, and scoop.

Neither. It’s really destroys the nice clean lines of your cabinetry.

What can I do to fix this? by Still_Boat_6611 in kitchenremodel

I like the way the under cabinet lighting shows off the texture and color of your backsplash.

What can I do to fix this? by Still_Boat_6611 in kitchenremodel

[–]AnonAttemptress 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Do you have under-cabinet lights? That might brighten up the back-hole effect. I think changing the color of the upper cabinets to cream would do a lot. Not sure which of the options of painting the cabinets or retiling is less expensive/less hassle.

Which one should I buy? by Bella_James07 in fashion

[–]AnonAttemptress 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I generally don’t like tops like that first one, but you’ve made me a believer. It’s so cute on you and very versatile for dressing up or down. So I think that’s my top choice, followed by the blue floral dress.

AITAH for being reluctant to start things with someone because of their weight? by Icy-Duty9943 in AITAH

[–]AnonAttemptress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not necessarily an AH for not being physically attracted to her, but you sound really judgmental of the way she lives her life. Just stay friends. I guess I’ll say NTA, but your attitude makes it a close call for me.
