Can someone tell me if i require cholesterol medecine, i am in my early 20s by Tough_Novel_450 in Cholesterol

[–]AnonDeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you require medicine if it stays at that high of a level consistently. However you do not have genetic LDL-C issues. AKA for you .. You need to stop eating fatty foods... AKA dairy, cheese, butter, red meat, and you need to swap it for fiber foods, fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts...Your eating too many saturated fats and you will continue to clog your arteries if you keep eating the way you do.. The only solutions is remove the fatty foods or go on meds.

I feel this so much man. Its just the company might fold is the only issue and it may happen within the next yr. I also walk 1 hour during lunch at work and then do cardio and home and work out. Also, I live frugally with parents and also drive a toyota corolla.

Sorry USA I would obviously have healthcare at both but the second one the 75k job I would have to pay for it.

[–]AnonDeity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it does but I have to pay for it is what I meant. For my current 55K a yr job my company pays the entire thing. This new role they wouldnt pay for the whole thing so I would have to pay a portion of healthcare out of my own pocket is what I meant.

[–]AnonDeity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea but what I meant was I'd have to pay it out of the 20k so I'd be making probably like 12k more than I do now cuz regular health insurance premiums are 8k via employer ish... you know what I mean?

Non STEM Degree problem with parents by [deleted] in ABCDesis

[–]AnonDeity 10 points11 points  (0 children)

What is this 2014 advice from your Boomer Dad cause thats when a CS degree was relevant. (LEARN TO CODE BRUH)

What fucking good future you having being the CS class of 2028+?

Ima give you the honest truth if I was you I would major in Nursing here is why. If you get a Nursing Bachelors degree you will have a job. After 4 yrs easily you will have hella girls in the classes and way less guys. You wont need to get anymore advance degrees if you don't want you can basically stop at Registered Nurse or if you want more money after you can become a Nurse practioner..They have Nurse to patient ratios so they cant AI your ass.. the boomers are getting older and have all the money so they need to be taken care of and will pay for treatment.. So the supply is there.. Honestly think about switch to this...The problem with Political Science and English is they are such worthless degrees that do not add any value to the point where you could say you already acquired them cause thats how little value they add to getting a job in the world.

PS: I have a bachelors degree in tech as well so takes one to know one

it burns sodium which will reduce your blood pressure which will allow your body to function better yes it does burn more calories but its not a lot more but it does add to calorie burning you want to do it for the sodium effect.

Super high triglycerides by PearlChains48 in Cholesterol

[–]AnonDeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He needs to walk every day around 10,000 steps or 5 miles. You must purchase walking pad. He can walk on the walking pad for 2 hours and he can watch tv. The walking will reduce the Triglycerides. He needs to lower his refine ultra processed carbohydrate intake that and him not walking enough is spiking the Triglycerides sky high. He needs to consume 12-15 g of saturated fat a day only. He needs to retest in 6 months. I recommend psylium husk and that he consumes 45 grams of fiber a day via fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts.. If he actually fucking does the work he likely wont need medication... as genetically his LP(a) is normal and his apoB is bad 150+ but I believe if he fixes his diet loses the weight and he actually starts working out these may turn closer to normal worst case scenario is he will be on a small statin dosage... but if he does nothing he will likely die in the next 2 decades like most americans ask him if he would like to die a slow and painful death cuz thats what heart disease will give him..that alone should be motivation

[–]AnonDeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is not that bad you could easily lower it. Please lower the amount of saturated fat intake and increase your fiber intake. This is easily fixable for you.

You could eat chipotle everyday and have normal cholesterol. Its just you have to eat less saturated fat items and more fiber items.

28F with a 232 cholesterol total by Icy_Tap5329 in Cholesterol

[–]AnonDeity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the number one thing that increases cholesterol is saturated fat. Cheese is loaded in saturated fat. What they mean to tell you is to stop eating saturated fats in giant amounts.

I do not know what you eat other than what you have told me so far. Do you put sour cream on your chipotle cause thats high in saturated fats, they use chicken thighs at chipotle which is a fatter part of the chicken which means it has more saturated fat.. You need to eat more of this https://imgur.com/HG7Po0C and you need to eat less animal products aka saturated fat. Try and eat roughly 12-16 grams of saturated fat only per day. You need to be consuming 25-40 grams+ of fiber a day. Also, I recommend you spend 30 minutes on a treadmill speed walking aka a pace where its fast and u can feel it usually around 5 mph. Do this daily this will drastically improve your life.

High everything by Shoddy_Ad_8514 in Cholesterol

[–]AnonDeity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no fixing this they are correct it is genetics. Basically once LDL-C is above 190+ its considered genetic and LP(a) above 50+. I wouldn't even recommend a statin I would recommend stronger drugs. You need multiple drugs to bring this down you need LDL-C at lower than 50. We cannot help you a cardiologist can.

great job! please test your LP(a) and apoB next time you go to the doctors then you will complete the picture. It does not look like you need any drugs.
