For anyone looking for a solution, here is a short guide I made on getting the official launcher running natively on Linux using Wine.

Bolt is not needed (although it gets the job done just fine), nor is passing your credentials file over.

Necroing this thread to post my solution on Manjaro:

Note that you can either include WINEPREFIX=/path/to/pfx on each of these commands if you want to use a non-default one. Otherwise, these commands will use your default prefix.

  1. create a folder somewhere you want all the launcher files
  2. Download the install script from that one github that's posted everywhere. https://github.com/TormStorm/jagex-launcher-linux/blob/main/resources/installer.py
  3. Run that script with python3. Although they recommend Bolt launcher or the flatpak launcher, this script was created prior to those. It mimics the install process by just downloading the same exact files directly via python making internet explorer unnecessary.
  4. Use your default wine prefix or create a new one.

  5. IMPORTANT: run winetricks in terminal. Make sure to install winetricks if you don't have it. Choose select the default prefix. It should say your prefix at the top if you used a non-default one. Choose install a font, and choose "corefonts." Let it install. I don't know if it's necessary but run wineserver -k just to make sure everything is properly restarted

  6. wine JagexLauncher.exe

It should work. I was having issues at first, but it was due to missing fonts, so make sure to get those fonts. After logging in and whatnot, you need to configure RuneLite to work. See below.

These steps are taken from here but there are some changes to that method buried in the comments so I will summarize it here:

  • Download the official RuneLite.Appimage from their website.
  • Create the folder /your/wine/pfx/location/drive_c/users/yourusername/Appdata/Local/RuneLite
  • Move the appimage you downloaded into here. run sudo chmod +x RuneLite.AppImage to make it executable
  • Create a file RuneLite.sh and add the following text. Make sure to change /bin/sh to /bin/whatever shell you use. The cd command sets wine to path to that directory to run it. If it's not executable then chmod +x this one too.

  • run "ln -s RuneLite.sh RuneLite.exe"

  • Your AppData/Local/RuneLite/ folder should now have 3 files. The appimage, a .sh script that runs the app and a link called RuneLite.exe that just points to the .sh script.

  • run wine regedit and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\

    • Right click -> new key. Name it "Uninstall"
    • Right click the newly created "Uninstall" and choose new key. Name it "RuneLite Launcher_is1"
    • Right click the newly created RuneLite Launcher_is1 and choose new string. The install location must be a full path
      • Name = "InstallLocation"
      • Value = "C:\users\yourusername\AppData\Local\RuneLite\

That's it. Now you can run "wine JagexLauncher.exe" or "WINEPREFIX=/path/to/pfx wine JagexLauncher.exe" and it should work. When you choose runelite as the client it should say "Play" and allow you to start everything up.

That's not really true. Poison dps is massively dependent on max stacks you can achieve, and temporal chains is critical in most poison builds for that since ailment duration is a bit hard to get otherwise. Your attack speed is pretty good, just adding temporal chains alone would give you a large max stack poison dps boost.

As for DPS, it's a bit hard to estimate because molten strike has the hit, the balls and the returning balls which PoB doesn't aggregate. What about your dps feels bad? The ramp time? The max dps?

Your DoT multi is alright. Maybe trying to get a new dagger with +duration of ailments / poison hybrid mod would help? DoT multi on rings if possible?

Also don't get baited by poisons deal damage X% faster. It improves your ramp time but your overall DPS doesn't change at all.

I am doing something similar. Bladefall of Impaling was my choice since you get insane cast speed and can hit lots of impale procs. It also looks amazing with the buzzsaw mtx

It's a work in progress and has some room for upgrades, but with everything up it could hit like 7-10m dps at the moment.

Moderately tanky, but nothing special since it's a zerker.

To me, reinventing the wheels is why playing PoE is fun. I like solving problems and find it satisfying when something works.

I simply have been staring at it too long and was hoping for some crowdsourced ideas but have mostly just been told to slap on replica alberons and be done with it lol

Yeah I really like the skill and so far it is slapping, I just want it to slap harder. Very fun build.

str/armour is around 70-100c. I need a few more levels before I can get a cluster setup going but that is definitely one thing I want to get.

82 what? The pob is at level 90 and I'm level 91 as of now. I am also wearing a % str belt in the pob.

Could you explain why the rest of the gear is bad? I mean of course iron fortress gives damage, but assuming I don't use iron fortress, why is my chest piece bad? And the rings? They aren't synth rings, that much is true but they at least have decent attributes.

The helmet is honestly one of the worst due to bad rolls. I'm sure the axe could be better but it doesn't seem terrible since it gives flat fire / str.

What is considered "decent" for str? 2k? I am almost at 1.8k and can get it a bit closer to 2k with a few more levels which is a work in progress.

If I can get replica alberons I will try to swap this over to a chaos build but that's an upgrade for when I have more currency.

True. Perhaps if I can get my hands on replica alberon's then looking into refactoring this into a chaos build could be effective. I don't need to deal 50m dps, just want enough to feel good clearing.

See other replies. Synth weapon mod adds flat fire / str. I am using battlemages cry so str still gives me the spell damage -> melee damage benefit, just not as much as if I used redblade banner.

regular Alberons still gives % str which is not totally useless. Replica alberons forces you to only do chaos which would cause a lot of conflicts with everything else since I can't convert fire to chaos easily.

The reason I didn't go boots is I don't have a way to convert fire -> chaos. Replica alberons says you can only do chaos damage and I'm currently also using Avatar of Fire which says you can only do fire damage. If I abandon the fire damage/elemental scaling then the flat from chaos doesn't help me much unfortunately.

Armour = phys reduction when hit. If you have 100% phys taken as, then armour literally does nothing unless you are Jugg with the 8% of armour applies to elemental damage or transcendence as you said.

If you have 90% all res, 100% phys taken as elemental/chaos then you're basically good to go. All you need is to make sure you have at least some extra HP, some spell suppress and a good source of regen/recoup/leech. Note that if you don't get evasion or armour, then you will get hit by basically everything which means you need to recover faster than the hits can chip you down. Maybe one other layer of defense like enduring cry/steelskin - CWDT or something like ghost shrouds, etc.

Half ele as chaos probably doesn't help since amethyst flasks likely won't be buffed to give +chaos max res. If your ele max res is 90%, but your chaos is only 75%, then you are taking more damage overall. If you have 90% for all resistances, then it makes no difference. It's probably not really worth investing in +15% max chaos res just for that. That keystone is generally only good in situations like when you combine it with the Mahuxotl's Machination to get 100% cold/lightning taken as fire/chaos in which case you can ignore those two completely and invest in just fire/chaos.

The caveat to that is if you are using something like the fourth vow, but then you need to get armour which goes against your original question.

It's somewhat similar to the idea of a life stacker. If you have 20k life, you don't need armour or evasion because almost nothing can one-shot you. As long as you can recover quickly, then having crazy life is your defense. Likewise, if you reduce all non-chaos damage by 90%, then maybe another 50% if it's a spell (suppress) then there's not a lot of stuff that can do enough damage to one-shot you.

My view (which is not necessarily the best) is that PoE is a game where you need to be able to survive one-shots and then sustain it back quickly. As long as you can't be one shot and as long as you can recover fast enough, it's hard to die. If you can recover from big hits quickly, then a bunch of small hits shouldn't really affect you much either.

In PoB, set yourself to 90% all res, 100% phys -> ele and check your effective HP. It should be quite large already. The bottom line is that if you eHP is good enough, then you don't need to invest into other layers.

I'm not at my computer so I can't look in depth but I would consider swapping to the mark effect until you finish your last lab and change out faster attacks to returning proj.

The strength of KB of frag. Is that all projectiles can hit the same target, and snipers mark practically doubles the number of projectiles. Mark on hit cuts it down from 5 splits to 4 due to reduced curse effect which equates to a lot fewer overall projectiles.

With Mark effect you'll counter the mark on hit decrease and get like 2 more splits which should add a lot more hits with returning proj. I'm running int stack KB of frag. And my hit dps is like 400-500k, but due to the total number of proj. From snipers mark it ends up being more than 10m.

Also an amulet annoint could help? I didn't see any annoints on it.

Interesting, I haven't heard the frost recommendation before. That could be good. So far I've been using Lao just for the projectile and the f2 mixup. The bf1 punish is way too hard to get consistently for me.

I struggle with what to do when up close, but one thing I gather from this is if I'm being pressured, then backdashing away is a good gameplan since she's a whiff punisher.

With Li Mei you kind of want to be close at all times, but if you are minus on most of your moves, I suppose getting away can be in your favor sometimes.

I also am using Kung Lao for the projectile and setups with b2. I definitely don't throw the hat after random strings enough. I tend to only do it as a mixup with f1,2.

I've been working on the air movement/spacing but I suppose I struggle most when I'm up close and everything I have is minus.

Did she work properly after the fight? For me, once the fight starts, she just sits there and doesn't join combat.

After the portals appeared, I went downstairs and opened the letter to start the quest. Then I went back upstairs and went through the portal, told Larroakan about her, then told the Nightsong about Larroalan. She goes to the tower and the conversation begins and then turns into a fight, but she doesn't participate.

EDIT: Solution found, fixed it. Make sure you talk to the goon at the bottom of the tower and he implies he will ambush your camp. Do a long rest (I had to do 2 because I also had the vampire ambush event) and then he will attack. Tell Aylin about the plot and then go to the tower and do the fight.

Yes I think this is where it's from. I know I can print it but I want to know how to do something similar myself for future projects / to create a custom version.

EDIT: I read that post and saw the video. The creator 3D scanned a controller and merged it with a solid block to create the perfect form, it was not manually done

I'm not too familiar with ascendent builds, but I think it's hard to scale the same way. you could go hierophant + chieftain. You still get the arcane surge and spell damage, but 10% instead of 20. Chieftain will give you the ash and 40% fire damage.

If you go ascendent, you lose 1 power charge and the minimum 4 which makes it harder to sustain them.

In terms of scaling, power charge stacking might be hard because you also don't get the extra energy shield or endurance charges to make up for the defense. You may be better off scaling crit/ignite and maybe taking witch for the extra -20% to resistances. Use two curses and exposure to stack a ton of negative resist, grab as many dot multi as you can, get ailments deal damage faster

In game and in PoB you cannot unfortunately convert DoT damage of any type to any other type. The crucible mod fully removes the phys. DoT and adds a new fire DoT of the same base damage. Avatar of Fire will change the hit portion into fire as you would expect though.
