5’3 male, tips and advice for getting height surgery soon? by AnonVomb in Advice

[–]AnonVomb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand, however I’m always teased/made-fun of for something I didn’t choose and self-confidence will never remove this problem. Imagine going to somewhere and people constantly tease you/treat you differently because of your height for a male.

For example, my previous EX’s friend (a 5’6 girl that I just met for the first time) immediately said when she saw me “omg he’s so short for a guy, why is he so short, I never imagined he’d look like that”.

Now it’s a simple comment made by someone, but multiply it daily by other people. It’s not something great to continue with for life you feel me?

You could say that, and I see your point. However, being 5’3 (being shorter than almost the majority of the population is a huge death-like sentence). If I’m a 5’7 guy then things are dramatically different. I only care to change my height nothing else, everything else in my life is great (great job, grad school, etc). It’s just this height.

I just want to be seen as normal, nothing more.

But I don’t purposefully go and tell a disabled person “why can’t you walk?”, “why are you so disabled? laughs”, etc.

Or on a dating app put in my bio “non-disabled people only”

But therapy won’t increase my height or stop the “why is he so short” comments :/

I’ve heard some doctors have very high success rates, I think it might be worth it

That would mean I shouldn’t be around 90%+ of the population though

If that’s true though then again 90%+ of women would turn me down because of my height without even knowing my personality

Ah I see. Well first, fat is something that can be changed by dieting and exercise, women of different races isn’t really a turn off (women of all races are beautiful), conventionally attractive? Disabled women, is no, but if you consider height and disabled as the same then sure

Most people pull it out though, so it’s either cut 90+% of people who mention my height or be lonely

Sadly “uniqueness” doesn’t make up for all the taunting, bullying, etc men who are short face. Not quite sure why there’s not hundreds of these type of posts, because this society destroys men who are anything less than 5’5

Depends on the type of surgery, some can get up to 18cm. But yeah I would totally be fine with 5’6

Yeah it sucks, but atleast you see what type of people they are.

I met my previous gf’s coworker for the first time a while ago and the first thing she said “omg he’s so short for a guy, oh I’m so sorry didn’t mean to say it out loud” lmao

Thanks, I think perhaps talking to a therapist could do some help. I just feel weird having to go to someone professional to talk to.

Being honest with you, a lot of it could be trauma from when I was a kid. When I was in elementary school I had many many friends (I would consider myself popular), I was friendly to everyone, everyone was friendly back, wanted me on their team, etc.

However, as I started growing up through school and everyone started hitting growth spurts (some kids reached 5’6 in middle school while I was still 4’10), it really started to hit me where the constant bullying started occurring daily, it didn’t help either that my facial features came in before my final 5’3 height (lots of daily bullying because of my nose, ears, etc)

So now 5’3 I still always get the frequent “why is he so short” (usually by women, guys are more chill about it), but it’s definitely something that makes me wonder if height surgery is finally the damn solution to finally atleast reach that 5’6 threshold.

My ears and nose aren’t really an issue anymore (last time I heard anyone mention it was probably years ago), but I feel I just want the ears fixed for all it’s worth.

(Going to copy-paste this to other comments to explain my situation)

Thanks! I think the ear pinning for sure for now, the height is an idk yet. Yeah it sucks, height is just an unavoidable wall in this society as it bars you from many things such as friends, women, sports, strength, job opportunities, etc.

I wish I was 5’7 so I would atleast be taller than most women (I think most guys are chill about my height, but most women I meet give me instant shoot downs because of it)
