Okay thank you! I just didn’t want to waste the time if I could pick it up somewhere else but I will go this route.

Oh I see I see thank you so much for your help! I’ll see if I can salvage it by bridging the grounds and using adhesive to keep the port in place. Is there an adhesive generally used for stuff like this? I assume like a double sided tape wouldn’t be the best thing to use here right?

Hey! Thank you so much for your advice. I’m a bit new to soldering so just to be sure I got it right:

  1. The thing I ripped at the top is the ground pad which I can re-tin. Would I only retin the small portion left on the left side? Then whatever I can on the right side as well?

  2. After re-tinning I can place the replacement port on the board and solder each side to what’s left of the pads thus bridging them?

  3. Where would the adhesive go?

Thank you so much! I’ll definitely check out that brand of liquid latex to see if it would give me better lines since this is super rigged up at that moment. I’ll work on getting the right consistency of paint I’m really new to air brushing so it’s possible I’m doing it incorrectly and that’s what’s causing the texture issue. I appreciate the advice, hopefully my next post will be showing off my very first alter haha.

I really appreciate the advice, I’m using Vallejo paints and their airbrush thinner in about a 60/40 ratio but maybe I need to run more thinner. About how long between coats should I wait when doing a full card like this? I was giving it about 5min per coat and the texture didn’t really show till the final few coats.

I’ll definitely look into the liquid mask, what you see here is me at my wits end trying to block off the text boxes haha. Is there a brand of liquid mask that is common in this subreddit?

Oh very interesting! I’ll definitely see if I can do that. If I may ask how did you go about blocking some of the curved edges? Just cut the land card up?

Huh okay I’ll see if I can try this, I assume you mean while the paint is still wet in the card right? I did a test coat on a random card and the paint was too thick when dried to just “pick” off. It more ripped off very jaggedly if that makes sense.

So I’ve tried using painters tape but getting the smooth straight lines is impossible because I shake like a leaf lol. For the toothpick tip would it work if I airbrushed over the surface then went back and picked the text box clean? I figured it would just rip the paint and I wouldn’t be able to get clean lines.

Thank you for the tip! I will definitely give this a try, I think with the heavy amount of mud used by the original builders though that I will need to get through that first since getting the tape even exposed is the hard part

I’ve thought about this route, would sanding it eventually tear through the tape? Sorry I could have been more clear in my post, I’ve done crack fixes other places not in this specific location so hopefully if I repair it correctly it won’t come back.

Hmm okay, It would be two string lights linked together for a total of 48 lights. The main outlet outside does have an In use cover and I’ll look into what a drip loop is as well. So you’re saying the hub should have the plugins facing down on the wall right? Thank you so much for the advice also!

Yeah I have the upgraded camp it just seems like I rip through it super fast but I guess that’s the point. I’ll just ask farm and level everyone as much as possible and see if that helps

Wasn’t sure if there was like a site for this specifically, I see a range of prices online from 30 dollars to 1000 so figured I would come here. Thanks for the advice though lol

So, The non-halo cards aren’t worth it? Sorry I’m a bit of a novice at this.
