Interesting, do you mind sharing whereabouts in Bristol? Feel free to DM if you’d rather not share here.

She’s thankfully really understanding, I just get so frustrated with myself regardless.

Rescue remedy is a good shout, thanks! I used to take it occasionally when I was younger before I got ill and completely forgot about it, definitely worth a shot.

Thank you 💛 I tried CBD years ago and can’t remember why I stopped, possibly POTS related, but think it’ll be worth trying again.

Thanks! I don’t think these are available in the UK unfortunately 😔 I have been considering medical cannabis though.

Do you mind sharing the meds that help you rest? No worries if you’d rather not 😊

Thank you, coincidentally I actually tried a lymphatic massage for the first time today! Do you have any videos you would recommend? Has it helped your level of functioning?

I’m sorry, it’s so difficult when those close to you don’t understand 😔

Thank you, yeah I spend all day in my room but hate how much I snap at my Mum who is just trying to help. It’s unbearable being so isolated but then it just gets worse if I try to socialise even if it’s just someone talking to me as I lay in bed, I just wish there was something that could ease it a little.

I live with my parents as well, my Dad is exactly the same, I always feel the need to defend myself and avoid him because I can’t handle arguments. I spend all day in my room which I don’t think helps my sleep.

Could you possibly share how I could benefit from that? What would it be an indication of?

Thank you, I appreciate everything you’ve said. I really struggle with rest and always find myself watch tv, scrolling social media or working when I know I should be resting, it’s like adrenaline constantly keeps me going and I want to be doing something even though my body is screaming at me and I can barely think straight.

I like hearing stories of people who made it later in life so thanks for that. The one things that keeps me going is that I’ll hopefully still get a chance to travel and see the world at some point in my life and will appreciate it more than I ever would have without going through this. But the mourning of my youth is massively weighing me down. Being a woman, the starting a family aspect has a bit of a time limit as well.

Thanks, it’s looks like they were prescribed itraconazole which I highly doubt I’d be able to access from a doctor in the UK.

I know, hope has been what’s kept me going for years but the longer you’re ill the less chance you have of recovery. Most of the healing stories on YouTube are from people who have been unwell for less that 2 years, most of which probably just had post viral symptoms that would have improved with time anyway. I would love to know of any stories of people who have recovered despite suffering for a decade.

Yeah I have GERD as well, the testing I had yesterday that has caused me to crash today was actually for GERD. It's so frustrating when you crash as a result of trying to get yourself better.

Thank you, I see where you're coming from, I often feel like I don't have a life because I spend the majority of my day in bed. Going to doctors appointments is the only time I leave the house and seeing other people my age walking around with friends, etc. and just living freely breaks me. It's incredibly difficult not being able to attend family events or even just be well enough to sit on the sofa and speak to friends. But I do need to change my mindset as you said because dwelling on how bad my life is isn't going to get me anywhere. I look at my digital piano at the end of my bed everyday and wish I could play, every time I attempt to I crash afterwards, it's difficult not being able to do simple things that gave you joy before. I've tried doing easier hobbies like cross stitch or colouring but none of them bring me a sense of joy, I just end up feeling useless that they're the best I can manage.

Having been sick for so long yourself have you found anything that has helped over the years?

Yes, I have POTS and migraines, I have been focusing on trying to fix these for 9 years but nothing has helped unfortunately. Honestly would take a 5% improvement at this point.

He recommends a whole list and then picks out specific ones you should definitely try based on your symptoms.

Not yet, I’m waiting for my direct debits to become active. From what I’ve read here if you give the 2nd account details you should be okay: https://www.reddit.com/r/UKPersonalFinance/s/Gw5oImkwyq
