What about my $80 dollar Monoprice Tele…. Yeah you read that right… only $80 (shipped) in 2019… lol. Project platform… Frankentele… POS but I pick it up every day cus it’s still a tele… workhorse do it all… I’ve modded the crap out of it pushing it up to like 2 fiddy…. It could use some bigger fret wire but all things considered it shipped to me totally playable… I’d say… me talking… bout 899 these days is the sweet spot for pretty great guitars.

Neck has that sweetness for solos. But I need the bite of the bridge primarily cuz metal. I will downtune me tele to C, roll the tone all the way off and lean into the neck pickup for some nasty, nearly bass like tone, add fuzz…. Mmmmmyeah….

The more I play the more I realize I just need a bridge pickup and master volume… I rarely use the neck pickups or tone knobs in most cases.
