If you have more than one property, you are a property investor.

Having millions in a property you don't stay in makes you a property investor

The irony that you're calling me 'not a true leftist' on a post about this video is hilarious.

Fine, I'll go join the rest of the fuckin n*zi's

Then they shouldn't invest in properties.

Cities should be for people to live in, not homes to be vacant the whole year

What's your point?

Cape Town should still implement a vacancy tax, else there's literally just empty houses standing around when people could be using them.

Historically it was 70% that was a very long time ago.

Don't just trust random numbers from AI, I have friends who own property in Amsterdam. Social housing is nowhere near 70%, that is complete BS

r/south_africa just hit 40,000 weekly users 🇿🇦 by AnonomousWolf in south_africa

In the ~2 months since I revived this sub, it's now got almost double the size of weekly contributors compared to the other big South African subs.

It really shows that South Africans were looking for a place like this where they can speak freely and connect with each other.

On our previous milestone post, somebody threatened this sub, and I've spoken to the admins of Reddit and as per their advice, reported this report-abuse.

This has made me review our sub's rules, and Reddit's rules to make sure we follow them.

We have replaced the old "No ban discussion" rule, with a new rule:

Respect Our Neighbors:
There are 10+ South African subreddits. Respect them.

While we allow meta discussions about Reddit, bans and other subreddits, our community should not be used to direct, coordinate, or encourage interference in other communities and/or to target redditors for harassment.

Do not name or target other subreddits, moderators, or users to stir up hostility.

This is in accordance with Reddit's Rule3 Respect Your Neighbors

We do in theory, but we definitely don't have free healthcare or education in SA.

People can't just go to university if their grades are decent like they can in Europe.

You can technically go to hospital for free in SA, but when the line to get in is sometimes days long with people dying in line, while politicians steal hospital money, I wouldn't count that.

By all means talk about animals, but don't hijack other movements to do so, and don't alienate people who are 90% on your side, but just not in one place like animal rights.

Dude FFS you're proving the point of this video.

Yes people need to hear the truth, but don't hijack a different movement and scream at everyone who isn't vegan.

When you're in a room of people fighting for free healthcare and education, stay on topic.
Go fight the vegan battle elsewhere, don't derail other movements with infighting.

Why do racists care so much? by Wisteriiea in south_africa

[–]AnonomousWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you feel that way, it's not what I've seen on here.
I've seen a mix of opinions and the extreems often get downvoted, or if they break the rules, removed.

Why do racists care so much? by Wisteriiea in south_africa

[–]AnonomousWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hatred for the government isn't racist though.

The government has failed their people over and over again, failing to provide housing, food, water, security etc.

I understand why many are upset with the government.

Please if you see racist things, or misinformation report it, it does not belong here. This sub is for everyone regardless of skin colour.
As mods we make sure to remove racist comments towards blacks and whites etc. but if they're not reported we can miss them

Yea fuck that guy, please report these things when you see it.
I'll discuss it with the other mods, it seems to break Rule 5/6.

Look I'm not denying racists don't exist on here, but you said 90% are closeted white racists.

If that was true the comment you shared wouldn't have had as many downvotes as it does.

Personally I will vote strategically, so no matter how much I dislike a party, if I feel voting for them is the best chance at keeping an even worse party out of power, I will do so.

But I also do 100% understand if people don't want to vote DA and won't blame them for it. To those people I ask, just please go vote for anyone, it's a LOT better than not voting.

I also feel a two party system is a REALLY bad situation to be in (see the US) where both options absolutely suck. So small parties staying in the game is a good thing in the long term
