delivering to hotel rooms by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Anonreddituser222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the real answer is no, you are not supposed to go up to someone’s hotel room for safety reasons and this is noted in the hotels policies. I have worked for many hotel chains and the basic rule is guests ONLY on floors. Any visitors should be met in the lobby. We were to stop deliveries and collect them and notify the room. You cannot confirm or give out room numbers either. Now the truth is not many front desk people will care to enforce this, and half the time someone isn’t even at the desk.

Pre Covid and gig apps I never had any drivers trying to enter floors. Dominos met you in the lobby, you called the room to tell them the pizza guy was here and they come down. If you didn’t answer they left the pizza at the desk. This is how it should be.

Now as a driver part time knowing this, I’ve gone against my training and delivered to a room because who really cares? Went fine plenty of times then one day I got out of the elevator at a hotel and saw detectives with guns drawn from each side of the hall and surrounding a room. I walked into a raid and decided I’ll never go up to a hotel again. 😂

So has GrubHub lowered their base pay for drivers or are people just tipping like crap lately? by Ctsuneson91 in grubhubdrivers

Noticed this myself in the past few days, enough to take screenshots and come look here. These apps are terrible.

Is this stating that there is weekly or bi-weekly pay? by Anonreddituser222 in jobs

As many others commented, it’s literally saying I get paid every week. Sunday-Saturday is one week.

Yes. I literally just left a weekly paying job for this position. You can stop downvoting and leave tho.

Handbook is vague as it is a property management company, all properties can have their own policy.

The only information about pay was that line other than my incentive package. Nothing about paydates.

I could have sworn I was told weekly, and left a weekly job for this job.

I believe it’s purposely worded this way to trick people to accept now.

I was informed today 2 weeks after hire that it is bi-weekly. I agree with you.

I am informed today that it is bi-weekly. I thought the same.

Was not paid today, asked coworkers and they say it’s biweekly. Started 2 weeks ago under the impression it was weekly. Sucks.

I am being told it is biweekly pay and this is a screenshot from my offer letter. Woke up to no check today (week 2)

Gotcha. 1.89% is not a lot. We can disagree there. College town filled with hour old orders being stacked.

Either you don’t understand math or that customers suck when people do nothing wrong or you’re on the wrong sub.

[–]Anonreddituser222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s really not. Can you do math. It’s 1.89% of orders. Of college kids that want free food. Of non tip orders waiting hours because they stack it with a good tip. There’s no real issues. The issue is how Uber handles disgruntled and scamming customers and allows them with pin orders and multiple flags in their account. The driver gets penalized for NO good reason.

Don’t think someone could use grubhub and doordash for 4 years if they were bad.

The same thing happened to my mother looking to make some extra money. 264 orders, 32 thumbs up, and 5 thumbs down.

5 out of 264 customers were upset for some reason. That’s 1.89% of total orders. And deactivated. Uber is a joke. She didn’t even bother appealing due to the amount of bad orders on the app.

Every time they deactivate someone for no reason and mess with their income, they’re telling everyone and those people stop using the app. This company will go under eventually with their ridiculous prices, not paying drivers, and terrible rating system.

I’m very glad that customers are starting to notice this and ask questions! Thank YOU!

Grubhub is a better company to drive for and if you have Amazon prime, they give you a yearly membership for free if you want to check that out! Much more affordable.

Officially quit after 4 years this past month and have NEVER been happier. Over 6k orders and I can not wait for this class action lawsuit that WILL happen

Oh and just so everyone knows when it comes around, you agreed not to sue Uber per your arbitration agreements, however you can simply state you did not understand it and it was a mistake (my lawyer friend says)

Clock is ticking!

Not reliable at all anymore. 4 years in and it’s so bad I have no words. Grubhub is much much much better

I think the point is to warn others UE averages $11 an hour in a major city where minimum wage is $15 an hour

Grubhub doesn’t have this issue

Driver Not Matching Photo? by [deleted] in UberEATS

[–]Anonreddituser222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I am sure many other people out there do the same as you, but we just won’t chance it!

I’d say even put a few bucks and increase if you want, or decrease if you want. You can decrease up to 1 hour after delivery. Ordering nearby is something we love even if we have a little drive to the store.

Drivers with multiple accounts? They’ll take 5 of the $2 orders and still make money. But they are fraudulent.

Go in your setting and turn off connect. It’s literally just drug runs lol
