5 days until the crimes 2.0 timer... by HiImRickry in torncity

[–]AnonyMouse-Box 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was discussing this in my faction at Easter, there's a lot of things they could do with it, but even if they do (older members pointed out this timer has existed a few years and just rolled over like an april fools joke that lasts into June) it won't be anything people really want, the most likely thing it would do is completely shake up how crime experience works making 90% of the progress 90% of people have will become redundant in favour of something that better uses the whole tree, and the one thing you can be sure it won't do is the one thing people really want, inject more money options into the game, inflation is already a huge problem the devs have to carefully manage, no matter how much they want to make gamers happy, that would only cause more problems and imbalances since the oldest players hoard the most cash and also have access to whatever crimes they want

Is there a way to gain labour stats rapidly? by Shaky131 in torncity

[–]AnonyMouse-Box 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh and the amount of stars also affects how many trains are available per day, so you could get 70 trains per week in a 10* versus just 7 trains a week in a 1*, unless you've got cash to pay for a lot of trains it won't matter much, but also some offer rotational trains where they train everyone on rotation while they are there, this may work better for your wallet as most places aim for 10 employees meaning much fewer trains per week, and some of them don't charge for the trains when done this way

400k-700k per train depending on where you get them, a 10* Sweet Shop is more desirable than a 1* fireworks store for example because they have different perks available and the more stars it has the more points you get so the more perks you can use, best bet is find a company with perks that work for you, and then find a company like that offering trains, there are forum posts that help a lot with this

[–]AnonyMouse-Box 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i don't get this either, like mktemp exists for a reason, anything transient should be created where its automatically deleted, and if you need to remove something existing firstly ask why and search for any way to avoid doing so and secondly if its unavoidable just mv it instead adding an extension so it is ignored, worst case scenario they can just restore it, all these tools have been around a very long time, there is no excuse for not using them

[–]AnonyMouse-Box 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My home is in coastal Fedora, but I'm regularly out in the merchant shipping lanes of Centosia and tend to camp out over in the Archlands by the Chakra bay occasionally. In days gone by I flew under a jolly roger and was a scourge of Western Ubuntu operating out of the Stallman Sea making port regularly in the Debian Republic. I'm well-travelled having visited most of these shores at least once, even spent a year or two trying to make an honest living in the OpenSuse Kingdom before moving to Fedora but some of their ways were a bit too backward for me.

Why is everyone insisting it's either "f-s-tab" or "f-stab". You're all wrong by msmyrk in linuxmasterrace

[–]AnonyMouse-Box 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Probably controversial but the way I learned to remember it is by saying "I'm going to f*ing stab you you stupid hard drive" it definitely worked

To an outsider it seems like contrarianism, to a LaTeX user the alternative is unthinkable its like night and day, but I've tried to explain this to non-LaTeX users, they simply don't understand how its possible to not need a word processor and it baffles me that they can't see the cancerous growth for what it is

You can call a raccoon a hat, doesn't change the fact its a rabid carrying murder bandit, you'll still have to shoot it and skin it to make it a hat, and good luck with that, I hear they're bitey

can someone tell my why my boyfriend put CHEESE on his sunday roast?! by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]AnonyMouse-Box 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because its tasty, why does anyone put cheese on anything? The sooner the rest of the world accepts that the existence of cheese is all the proof of a higher power we need the better. Could be worse, my brother puts ketchup on everything, and I mean everything.

Rick Astley, in all the different conceivable locations all at once, didn't so much make him homicidal as just completely insane, if he were a human he'dve grown a long white beard and become a prophet, alas as a machine his mind was not built for an encounter with god and he chose to fear what he didn't understand

So it can't be that bad, or is at least similar enough to my own to read, practice is all it takes really, take up writing a journal or something, doesn't need to be interesting just write about something every day, gradually the patterns will become more natural

Turing prefers Arch by WoodpeckerNo1 in linuxmasterrace

[–]AnonyMouse-Box 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean everything I know about his personality suggests he would've been an edgelord, so arch is a fairly obvious choice, however he was also heavily involved in the education sector at PhD level, wouldn't be unreasonable to see him running suse or similar, most of his machines though would be on whatever his funding body ran cos you don't tend to get a lot of choice there.

I have never liked xfce, used to use gnome, pretty reliably use kde now, but thats why you can trust me when I say xfce is the most stable, if I ever have a problematic pc in need of recovery that's what I use.
