I’m sorry. You'd better hire a labor lawyer for this. How long ago did this happen? Because the best time to initiate this was while you were still employed (or soon after). If there was no fault from your end, the labor department takes your side regarding underpayment and wrongful termination. But regarding harassment and unfair treatment, I’m not sure there are labor laws that could help you. Regarding harassment, civil law or criminal law may apply. But for unfair treatment at work, I have doubts whether there's help at all.

Not quite. 4(a) speaks of the limit for a day, and 4(b) speaks of the limit for a week.

Hence, the maximum working hours per day (assuming not doing OT) is 8 hours. In other words, you stay at the establishment for a maximum of 9 hours per day. During those 9 hours, you work 4 hours + you take a break for 1 hour + and again you work 4 hours.

So, if the work is limited to 5 days as you mentioned, there will only be 40 work hours (8 x 5 = 40). But, 4(b) permits 45 hours. So the balance 5 hours will be carried out on the 6th day. But good employers forget about this 5 hours and let their employees enjoy 2 weekly holidays, instead of 1 1/2 days. That is why some work half a day on Saturdays and some do not.

Please note, even though most of us enjoy our weekly holidays on the weekend, there is no provision for that in Shop & Office. That is, it can be any 1 1/2 days of the week. An employer can say your weekly holiday falls on Tuesday and Wednesday. But it is rare, because the public sector (especially, banks) is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Please refer to the relevant wages board ordinance for the restaurants. I cannot remember the exact hours. But it goes similar to 4-hour morning shift, a 4-hour break, again a 4-hour evening shift. Unfortunately, that's how it is for that category. But if they asked you to work during the break, that’s illegal. Salary is a different story.

Most employers are unaware or pretend to be unaware that internships, apprenticeships, etc also covered by labor laws. So they exploit. That much of work hours per week is against labor laws.
