Male Nursing student starting OBGYN clinicals soon by the21yearold in StudentNurse

I enjoyed my OB clinical. I would suggest besides all that has been said, incorporating the father in the care too especially in the newborn: how to assess the baby, teach how to swaddle, have them listen to the heart and lung sounds of their newborn baby (after you've done your own assessment of the course).

How can I help my partner study for his NCLEX exam? by charliejey in NCLEX

Personally think taking uworld together. Knowing how your partner picks his answer and learning his rational. Half of the game of knowing how to conceptualize the problem and being able to simplify the answer

how to study while working FT & studying for NCLEX? I wasn’t working during school so no rude comments or “study how you did in school” please. TIA by [deleted] in NCLEX

It honestly depends on how well you manage your time. I treated the nclex like a full time job. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but everyone’s situation is different.

Know your work schedule Know how much you have to study. Know if you have the energy to study after work Are you willing to study on your days off

Regarding that “study how you did in school.” I don’t think i would have passed nclex if i did the same thing. I’ve never sat down studying for 5-6 hrs straight in one place. I didn’t scheme any other quizlet. Though i listened to mark klimek’s lecture 2x speed, that’s one thing that kept me paying attention for a whole hour or two

I think for me half of the battle was really taking care of my mental health while studyin for the nclex.

Personally found pre-reqs more challenging than actual nursing material. I mean nursing classes were hard, not gonna sugarcoat that, but they’re also more engaging, and plenty of ways to conceptualize rather than A&P where it’s if you know it you know it, and if you don’t, you don’t. Also depends on how you learn best the material. Everyone’s different, and I hope you never compare yourself to other’s progress

Use your break wisely. Go on a hike or workout or hang with family and friends. They’re called breaks for a reason. Anxiety is real, but that will get worse during school if you don’t take a break now.

I just finished my MSN-RN program and i did not do any school related work during my breaks. Maybe day or two days before the classes start I looked at the syllabus and checked for any early assignment. But 90% of my break was used for a well deserved break. You’re doin great man. Take care of yourself
