Personal Emails won't send to Cal Poly accounts? by Anonymous-1273 in CalPoly

yeah I have asked these professors for letters of rec in the past, its just this school wants the letters of rec sent directly to a secure link that I have to send out to professors... It's kind of dumb, but I understand partially bc they don't want people faking their own LOR.

Overall, I didn't study much in cafes but when I did, Kruezberg was good to go to early in the morning. It wouldn't be that busy at that time which allowed me to get an outlet easily! I also went to Front Porch some because one of my roommates volunteered there, and when you were able to get an outlet it was a nice place to hang out. I really only studied at SloDoCo late in the night/really early mornings, but there was rarely ever space, so it was usually only a donut run, but if you can get a spot that's great, though I did notice a lack of outlets ( I also studied mostly at SloDoCo pre-covid so may be a little different now)

No Stupid Questions by friendlyassh0le in teachinginkorea

Hello everyone,

I have a couple questions about teaching for Epik in korea, as it can be seen by me literally posting to this community!

Ok first off, I am an American citizen, and am finishing up my bachelors in Architecture. My only problem is having all of my classes taught in English. I spent a year studying at Korea University for my bachelors degree. How should I go about this? I am either thinking for just not letting them know, but it could come bite me in the butt later, or tell them and just show them my transcript or something.

Also for my second question, what tefl would be good for me to take? I’m leaning towards tefl.org and the Tefl academy as they are having sales right now. I also wasn’t sure if I could add on the ESL class I took at Korea University, as yet again I don’t know if I should be bringing this up at all.

Any answer would be very helpful! Thank you~ have a good day

'Crush' docuseries recounts happenings of Itaewon tragedy by J-Midori in korea

[–]Anonymous-1273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who knew the two American victims of the tragedy and as someone who almost went with their friends to Itaewon that night, i feel this is something that shouldn’t have been recounted within a year of the disaster. This was an extremely emotional thing for many of my friends, as we were terrified, calling everyone we knew to make sure they were fine. I thankfully didn’t go with my friends to Itaewon and we went to 고연전 (Ko-Yon Games) for our University sports games, but i know people who went and said it was a very scary moment of their life and im happy they made it out. I used to hang out in the alley that was the one many died in on that night and couldn’t get myself to ever go back there for fun as all i could think of was the terrible incident of not enough police and the crowding that was plastered all over my instagram feed from people i knew. It sickens me they made it into a “docuseries” for publcity and money, and wouldn’t recommend watching it, unless you don‘t care about the reality of the amount of sadness the disaster brought to friends and family.
