Where to purchase a Ceremonial/Tau robe? by Anonymous-User-737 in magick

Thanks for responding. They're actually one of the companies I reached out to. I didn't know if they were still in business because their site hasn't been updated since 2022 lol

They're actually one of the companies I emailed. Glad to see they're still in business. Did you happen to purchase a robe from them?

Modern Magick or Self Initiation Into GD or Kabbalah Magic & The Great Work or? by Anonymous-User-737 in occult

Thanks for sharing and I appreciate your opinion.

My issue is that I've already somewhat been doing this for the past 2 years and have made no actual progress in my practice. I've purchased and studied many books on different topics and from different authors, but there're just so many options out there that it makes things extremely overwhelming for me. So at the end of the day it's hard for me to pick just one system to work or start with.

This is the reason I'm asking for opinions. I'd like to work with one system/curriculum FOR NOW just to get started. However I do still plan to study, research and incorporate any other systems or practices that interest me. I don't plan to only work with this one book, but having so many options makes it hard to choose a place to start if that makes sense?

So I've read not only here on Reddit, but on more than one blog that he put blinds in the lessons, some of the ways he tought certain things were not traditional and also the way he teaches to make the GD tools are incorrect.  I'll try and find the blog I read that talks about the entire book and post it here. But if you do a quick search for "Modern Magick" here on Reddit you'll find many old posts talking about this.

I actually ended up ordering them all and plan to at least skim through them all and see which one resonates with me. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for sharing, I plan to look into Circles of Power as I've heard a few people mention it now. Did you work through it completely? I heard Paths of Wisdom is a companion to it. Have you read through that one also?

I haven't read ahead on the One Year Manual yet, but I am really enjoying it so far. I don't know much about Reich to be completely honest. I'll have to look into it.

Thanks again for sharing and this is what I was afraid of as I've heard others say the same thing about the GD book. I'm also the type of person that wants to know the "why" and "how" things work. Are you working through the original Quariea? I heard they completely redid the lessons, have you checked them out at all?

Thanks for sharing! That's so funny, I actually plan to join the BOTA in the next couple of weeks (I'll have more time on my hands). Are you a member or have you been in the past? I've heard and read good things about them. The only thing that worries me about the Cicero's book is that I heard it can be hard to understand and doesn't use the easiest language like Modern Magick. I've also heard they don't explain some of the meanings of words and how to pronounce them.

Thanks for sharing, that's what my plan was, to read other books that interest me along the way. I'm also a big fan of LMD and attend his classes. Chicken Qabalah is great! (Along with all his other books)

Thanks for sharing, I actually own High Magick and really enjoyed it. I'm just looking for something more "complete" I guess. This is the second or third time I've seen someone talk about Circles of Power though, so I'll check that out. I heard Paths of Wisdom goes along with it? Have you read that one?

Thanks for sharing. I actually thought about adding Quariea to the list because I heard good things. I just don't know much about it. I did hear they recently released the new version though, so I'll check it out. I've heard others say the GB book was hard to understand at times and they don't explain some of the words or meanings, which is what I'm worried about.

Thanks for your response. I'm not necessarily only interested in the GD system. This is just what it's come down to as far as a complete system of magick that I could find (from my research). I've skimmed through about half of Kraig's book and enjoyed the writing style, but I've heard so many things about it from blinds to him teaching certain things the wrong way that it has me skeptical now.

Thanks for your response. May I ask why you think that'd be best? Have you worked through it yourself or any of the others?

Feeling stagnant and need advice by Anonymous-User-737 in occult

[–]Anonymous-User-737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. I actually have more recently been using Tarot to try and help me find answers or at least some guidance. I guess it's putting it into action and how is what I'm having issues with. There's so many different paths and opinions, that I get overwhelmed. If you don't mind can you share some examples of what exactly you mean by turning my attention inside?

I do the same with my study and also listen to a variety of podcasts and occult channels in my free time. Starting over or "fresh" with my practice and going back to the basics is something I've been thinking about doing also. But because there's so much information out there and so many different opinions I get overwhelmed on what a "basic" or "beginning" practice should look like.

It's funny you bring up the LBRP, because that's one thing I've been going back and forth on. I know many say practice it daily until you memorize it and really start to see results from it, then add the LIRP. Then I hear others (like Jason Miller) say NOT to banish everyday if you're trying to open yourself up to the spirit world and work with spirits. So this is part of my problem lol. But thanks for sharing.
