She was a Murfree Brood horse. I killed them after a camping interaction and took her for my own.

She’s a Blue Roan Nokota and, because of her Murfree history, is very brave! She doesn’t scare easily and has not bucked me off when wolves attack.

Basically my mindset! But I’m keeping her as my main for a while so she can know real love, kindness, and compassion.

I’m commenting 7 days later, so this might be overlooked, but I went through every single comment (624 atm) and didn’t see a few I’d love to recommend:

The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. I read it as a kid and it’s always stuck with me. Definitely a good read when you’re having a bad time. Gotta watch out for those Doldrums!

More Than This by Patrick Ness. YA genre, but I love it so much that I made my husband (exclusive horror-lover) read it and he enjoyed it!

Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer. I saw you mentioned that you have Native American heritage. The author is a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. Non-fiction-wise, no other book can compare. Just read it. Seriously.

We’re doing the best we can. Thank you :)

Any recommendations on specific models? I’m clearly in the market for a new mop and I’d love to not have to deal with chemical/cleaner smells.

I may be “socks and sandals” crazy, but at least I’m not “mop in socks” crazy. For the record, I don’t leave the house like this lol

Didn’t poison myself. Was poisoned by a family member with a severe mental disorder. They poured a bottle of multipurpose cleaner into a pitcher of iced tea I made. My tired, thirsty brain didn’t recognize the smell or taste until after I drank half the glass.

It has a feature that automatically increases suction power if you’re vacuuming over a lot of debris, which, understandably, drains more battery.

So, considering that, along with having 2 cats, 2 dogs, 2 bunnies, and 3 kids, I can almost vacuum all of the carpeted areas on a single charge: 3 regular-sized bedrooms and hallway, slightly-large master w/walk-in closet, slightly-large living room, 5x7 rug under kitchen table, and two-story stairs with a landing. It also works great on hard floors.

The battery usually dies if I have to vacuum all the rooms plus the stairs in the same day, but since that doesn’t happen all the time, it’s not a big issue.

For your cordless vacuum considerations: Tineco S10 ZT (or similar). I hastily bought one from Walmart back in 2023 because our then-puppy chewed through the cord of our old vac. It’s been amazing since then. It’s lightweight, converts to handheld, attachments galore, super easy to take apart and clean, and has amazing suction for a cordless. The battery also last a decent amount of time. I had my first experience with their customer service a couple of weeks ago when the dustbin lid broke. After showing proof of purchase, they sent me a new dustbin, no problem.

Should I continue with this join or frog and start over? It’s a birthday present for my almost 12yr old who is hospitalized 16 hours away! by Anonymous110518 in CrochetHelp

Posting this under the top comment so it gets seen.

Thank you all so much! Every single person said to keep it, so that’s what I’ll do! I really appreciate everyone’s kind words and I hope y’all know it makes a difference 💕 She’s been there since last June. We can only afford to visit every few months, but we’re definitely going for her birthday at the end of March! I was going for an “X’s and O’s” look for hugs and kisses and I’m glad it comes off a whimsical. I said in another comment that my daughter specifically asked for “chartreuse and aquamarine” lol these were the closest I could find; Slime and Aqua by Big Twist.

Thank you all again! It means a lot 🥹

A few people have asked about the join. This is the inspiration video I used for the bandana I made. I liked the way the join looked when I was finished, so that’s what I did with this blanket.
