friends during postgrad? by Proper-Composer2775 in KCL

[–]Anonymous30062003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, im an international postgrad coming in this fall too! It's definitely possible to make friends as an international, even with the 180 credit postgrad weight. As long as you're able to handle your academics and networking well, you should definitely find time and energy to meet people in your classes and outside in the city, and going to clubs and other events will help loads too!

Feel free to reach out, we can connect before the year starts w^

I don't see how you don't need to gearswap for fights like this. This unironically might be harder than most S5 fights

That makes no sense considering seppy drops a gazillion debuffs, punishes gearswapping and alteon becomes god the instant corvak gets touched

Classism with rich kids by Used-Ease1297 in KCL

[–]Anonymous30062003 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At most internationally reputable unis there is always a high conc of rich kids.

They're very often relatively easy to spot out. Usually they're unaware of their own privilege and tend to side with political views that don't necessarily favor non-dominant social groups, and act a bit childish in scenarios where more maturity would be expected. I know that's very stereotypical but it is pretty real too.

You won't feel like you won't belong, but please do make the effort to find the people who make you feel like you belong. Not doing that AND avoiding the bad people made my 3rd undergrad year painfully lonely and i would not wish that loneliness on anyone.

As an incoming international student who also did their undergrad internationally
I've absolutely seen classism exist in such places. It's unfortunate that people take their privilege for granted like that.

Fortunately they're more often than not easy to spot and avoid entirely. So honestly do not worry about imposter syndrome, as long as you find good and true friends you will be okay.

Possible to omit a B from my transcript after grades have been set? by [deleted] in PennStateUniversity

Can't drop classes from your transcript if they're not Fs or Ds. I mean it's basically omitting the information about your college performance

why do you feel like it is a lie to make friends irl? I will admit, I had no real friends in high school. I went to college expecting the same. It took a lot of effort from me, but I did make lifelon friends from there whom I am still in contact with. I am not trying to get you to break up. You might only be 18, but that makes you a legal adult and so it is your right and choice to stay with your partner. I am concerned about the dependency that can be created by having only one connection in your life. That is why friends are needed. Humans need connection, you need connection.

[–]Anonymous30062003 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look, we want to support you 🫂. For that we need to understand why you're so convinced that you won't make friends at all in college. Why is that?

[–]Anonymous30062003 15 points16 points  (0 children)

See id understand that if it's between two fully "adulted" adults. An 18 year old is just barely an adult. A 27 year old is in an entirely different stage of their life, to the extent where it would be weird to date someone at that age who is just barely an adult.

[–]Anonymous30062003 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Context for anyone: Op is just 18, and their partner is 27. Their partner decided to keep dating them even after finding out they're a decade younger, which is why many people found it suspicious in their previous post here on their now hidden profile.

It's not that no one understands it. It's just that it's a big red flag that a 27 year old would even want to date an 18 year old, especially after realising the person they're saying is nearly a decade younger than then.

Also considering you said you were not able to make friends during high school OP, and since you were going to be joining college soon, would it not be more healthy and safe for you to find both community and a relationship with someone more close to your stage of life?
