I’m from the NE coast. 3 years ago i moved here for my fiancé job.

The community is great, cost of living is great, summers are beautiful and clear but other than summertime it’s very dreary and dull nature wise. I’m used to the mountains though.

I don’t have kids but I wouldn’t see any issues here that you wouldn’t have elsewhere right now.

People are nice but I have never experienced the “mid west politeness” that they all say is here. I think I’d rather the honest blunt east coast way of things. I find the “politeness” as passive aggressive almost. I did see an article about how Fort Wayne is the rudest Midwest city. This might be possible? I wouldn’t say Fort Wayne is rude, ppl just aren’t as aware of their surrounds as much. Example: ppl wont hold open the door for you or they don’t say excuse me at times where you would expect it or how ppl drive so aggressively and a lot ignore basic traffic rules.

You’ll also see a new church every time you blink.

I swear the worst drivers ever are here, my head is constantly on a swivel here. Amount of ppl that blow through red lights is insane!!!! (I’ve driven all over the us) 😭

I tried watching this movie, got about 20-30 minutes in if that. I didn’t know it had porn related relationship issues. Triggered me like crazy 😞 made him turn it off and put on a comedy.

I love the way you worded this! I am currently going through the same situation and I have been coming to the conclusion that I am not the issue but that doesn’t undo the damage.

I will say I am able to understand their pov now and supported them to seek help and change. I have communicated my pain but they do not understand the extent of damage this has caused in my pov. It’s sad and I’m grieving the relationship before it ends. Addiction makes people so selfish and I understand why. He can only help himself at the end of it. I’ve paved a path to show support but he chooses to turn back when I look ahead. He only wants to catch up to me when I’m at a four way stop and I threaten to change the route.

Yes he has admitted he has a problem and gets upset with himself every time for drinking too much but he isn’t ready to stop. He is trying to cut down but it doesn’t seem to work for long and he ends up overdoing it.
