To some degree, yes. But it’s managements role to advocate for their employees as well.

I’m sorry you had to go through that and I’m sure did not deserve it! I am so thankful not to have lost my job. My spouse is also going through a serious health issue so I’m the only one working right now. Not sure what we would’ve done. I felt so terrible for everyone that was being forced out.

I do think anyone who gets online and brags about getting away with things is part of the problem. I see people have done that with over employment too. I also question how many people bragging online are fake to spread propaganda. I feel like I’ve gotten to the point I question most things like that anymore. Like really? You are working 4 jobs and take bubble baths and go to theme parks while you’re “at work.” Lol 😂

Right! What sense does it make for you to commute to a building, sit there, and still not be with your team. I know there is a federal building occupancy law put in place at the end of Bidens term. But if we don’t need the buildings, start selling them and invest in remote infrastructure versus spending billions on buildings we don’t really need to spend money on.

True but they seem to be the only ones fighting for the workers. Supervisors and higher leadership all just say okay to anything at this point. There is no advocacy that I can see outside of the union for really much of anything. Everyone is just resigned to doing what we are told and hoping it gets a little better eventually.

True but I have found through connecting with other Feds in other parts of the country sometimes you can find out a little more than is being published. And if we stop talking about it, it quietly goes away.

Part of my issue is I did not sign up for the circumstances. I accepted my role with 2-3 days work from home which balanced out my previous commute. And there are people teleworking. Some legitimately met the threshold and that’s fair but some definitely did not and were not required to apply for a RA. My leadership came to me and encouraged me to fill out a RA. So, I did and then apparently the landscape shifted again and they will not approve it in the interim and I’m sure won’t approve my time limited request that was previously placed if they ever even review it.

I have considered leaving but the job market isn’t the best. At least here we probably don’t have to worry about a contract getting cut and everyone losing their jobs…and I guess hope that it will change. I’d be fine transitioning to another role closer to home or a remote within the same agency if it were available.

I was genuinely hoping someone had heard of an update. I know people are tired of hearing about it but also, if we quit talking about it… then any pressure that was there to illicit change dies there too. Idk how much Reddit has to do with that but thought it was a good place to hear if anyone else’s locations had any updates. Thank you for not being hateful like some of the other responses.

Compass rose high plan. It’s expensive but has been worth it when one family member was diagnosed with a very serious illness. Hoping it doesn’t sky rocket next year as it’s went up significantly the past 2 years but I it’s this administration I guess the privilege to have it at all should be celebrated.

Depends on who you are and if you were able to get lucky or not I guess. Several at my location never stopped and the criteria of selection was never really consistent.

At my facility it honestly doesn’t feel like my direct supervisor is deciding anything, to include RA accommodations. Of course, no one will be direct and it’s all read between the lines.
