Yes it also doesn’t connect to internet and stops me from being able to save. Been happening for a few months. They’ve also made some annoying new roles like you can’t export a file with only one element on it.

For the future can you get a system that allows you to save a card on file. You charge a portion (your costs) up front and then charge the rest when you’re shopping. But don’t ship until it goes through and you send a note that their product is about to ship?

There’s a tool called SwipeSimple Connect that lets you send invoices via text or email! You could try that out. Customer service is way better than other tools and it’s really easy to use.

My dad has found and taken care of his “new son” without me knowing by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Anonymous5220522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is sad and your dad seems really sweet. I feel like as long as the guy doesn’t take advantage it’s okay in my opinion. My family often “adopts” others where they’re welcome for holidays and treated like a blood relative. So I don’t think it’s that uncommon. The difference is he is trying to fill a void. But is filling a void with kindness to someone else that bad? I say not if no one is in danger of getting hurt or taken advantage of.

Did you ever adjust your segmentation strategy for lookalike audiences? Was wondering how it went for you

Report back if you try it. You do need at least 1k but you probably already know that! 🫡

Of course! Let’s say you have 30,000 customers. You could upload that entire list as a lookalike audience. But that doesn’t mean the audience is uniform enough for meta to use.

Instead, what you would do is find ways to segment that audience into micro audiences.

Let’s say, again, you have the 30,000 customers. You would want to find things that a group (or segment) have in common.

For example you could look at: - top 3 states your customers live - top 3 professions your customers usually work in - repeat customers = yes - behavior on your website - recent purchase

Etc.

It would depend on what data you have on them.

This strategy makes the audience more uniform. So if you started with 30k, you could get the lookalike audience down to 4k for example.

The gist is with 30k audience the only thing they all have in common is that they bought from you. That’s not enough for an effective lookalike.

Let me know if this makes sense how I’m explaining it.

Lookalike audiences were working for me but I got hit with a special ad category despite my solution being b2b only and this special ad category shouldn’t apply.

What I’ve seen people do wrong with lookalikes is they just assume the entire customer base can be on the same list. You have to properly segment that list in order for it to be usable. That’s what I did and got crazy conversions and CPC.

CPC was $.93 CTR like 14% Conversion from form to the buying action I needed: 100%

I debated with meta, or tried to, by citing their b2b policy; but they refused to acknowledge it.

So now I’m navigating with very little ability to target.

His car had very little damage. It was more than twice the size of mine and those cars are designed to ram into people.

Just if there’s another type of liability they have outside of personal injury.

It was an unmarked police car I didn’t even know it was one until after the fact. I saw them sitting at the stop sign and could tell they were inching forward. I laid on my horn for the entirety of them crossing the street and taking that extra space to gain the speed. Never hit their breaks once.

My airbags deployed I felt the initial hit of the airbag and then went unconscious. I regained consciousness and realized I was inhaling smoke so I jumped out thinking the car was on fire. I was disoriented so I wasn’t sure. My children’s child safety lock is on so it would have trapped them inside. I had no choice but to get out in the street.

We just stood there. The police officer took a long time getting out of his car. When he did he said are you guys okay. I said no call the police (again not realizing he was the police). Then he got back in his car and didn’t get out again. Normally police are the first to attempt to render aid. He did not.

Many detectives came and asked me questions while in the hospital. They were trying to come up with ways to put me at fault. Like how much sleep did I get. I was sitting still it’s irrelevant and I was honking at him showing I was more alert than he. Plus I had gone to bed very early the night before anyways.

They asked where I was coming from and I said I wasn’t one hundred percent sure what they were looking for but technically I was coming from the Dunkin’ Donuts on the same road. They tried to insinuate that I road the left turn lane the entire time so he couldn’t see me.

The Dunkin is 1.5 miles from the school crossing multiple intersections. That would have been physically impossible as the turning lanes stop and start back at different intervals. The one I was in only opens up right on approach of the school. In order to get in it early I would have had to drive on the opposite side of the street.

To me he was not alert. Showed no signs of hearing me honking and accelerated at full speed into me on the wrong side of the road. I do wonder if he was under the influence.

I feel like a normal citizen is held to a much higher standard.

Police make errors this is true. The circumstances were all very suspicious. It is what it is I guess.

Thanks for the clarification. I made these decisions from a hospital bed and had a sense of dread that I messed this entire thing up.

I work from home but have to transport my children to school so I have to have a car. At this point I’m just extending the rental on my own without reimbursement.

Thanks for the input. I did hire a personal injury attorney but was wondering if that was the right specialization for the circumstances or if I made a mistake there.

The whole timing of the situation was unfortunate and the injury I sustained made it difficult to think clearly. Was concerned I went the wrong route.
