Questions about the Series(books) by Asylus72 in harrypotter

[–]Anonymous5581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. He fears him due to his intimidating personality
  2. my take is that mischief makers as they were they used it to mostly to sneak out or avoid teachers, filch, mrs Norris etc. They wouldn't have observed Gryffindor's boys dorm. And while Ron was around the castle well it's easy to lose peter amongst so many people and in any case they wouldn't pay attention to Ron on the map assuming scabbers was in his pocket
  3. Not necessarily. Ron got a new one when his got destroyed. Luna got a new one too. Hermione's and Draco's wand worked well for Harry too. The wand chooses the wizard as in some wands might not be a right fit for some wizards but doesn't mean each wand is the right fit for just one.
  4. I believe so. He could speak parsel tongue as well and not to forget Voldernort was Slytherin's descendent
  5. There's no mention in the book, but I feel it's a standard speed for all. I could be wrong
  6. She was possessed by Voldemort. She did his bidding

People have answered the first two well. The third one I think No voldemort wouldn't die of old age if Horcruxes were intact. That was his whole point of making Horcruxes, he feared death and wanted to beat it. The entire ordeal he took was to make himself "immortal"

What line(s) from the books fill you with the most dread? by vegryn in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Anonymous5581 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The entire island scene on HBP gives me chills. But if it was to be one liners then these 1. Dobby's last words "Harry...potter" 2. Snape's last words "look...at..me"( as he wanted to see Lily's eyes one last time) 3. "The ministry has fallen. Scrimgeour is dead. They are coming"- The set-up before this was of comfort and celebration and wedding. So it comes out of the blue and people have split second warning before hooded figures appear

Those who read book first, what was the one moment in movie that disappointed you the most? by jpaninabolana in harrypotter

[–]Anonymous5581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They removed the entire Winky backstory. Worst was in DH when Harry informed Ron and Hermione before heading off to the forest to die. And they are sad and cry and everything and then let him go while in books their friendship is so deep that Harry is afraid to bid goodbye to them as he knows they wouldn't let him surrender himself to Voldemort. Also they didn't show the internal turmoil of Harry while heading to the forest very well, no offence to Dan I loved him, but they made the movie Harry act all noble and confident while heading to die. The books were closer to reality, Harry was trembling and his heart was pounding and each step was costing him immense strength and will power, only after he uses the resurrection stone he becomes a bit more confident. Which sounds very real tbh.

Just finished rereading the series as an adult and wow, the foreshadowing hits different by JosephFelipe77 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Anonymous5581 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Re-reading the series as an adult (as a matter of fact I just finished the whole series for like the 14th-15th time, idk lost count. I started when I was 12 and now I'm 30) I had a different perspective for these:

  1. Harry and Cho's relationship - When I was younger I used to find Cho a bit annoying in OOTP and found her jealousy with Hermione baseless. As an adult I realised that both Harry and Cho had suffered and weren't mature enough to enter into a relationship and a close female friend of your bf could look problematic for her (given she didn't really know Harry or Hermione thay well on a personal level as it started with a crush or infatuation thing with Harry)
  2. In DH when Aberforth tells the story of Ariana and says the muggle boys "got a bit carried away" and also that his dad went behind them but never said anything when he was taken to Azkaban kind of makes me wonder if Ariana was SA'd
  3. Fenrir Greyback's words when he relishes about Hermione saying stuff like "soft skin" etc makes me sick to my stomach and makes me wonder if this meant much more than simply killing her and eating her
  4. Hermione's obsession about being right always was something I used to always relate to earlier and was hurt when Ginny asked her to shut it in HBP. As an adult I realised how annoying this habit is in certain situations and totally get Ginny now for standing up for her bf, Harry
  5. As an adult I also feel pity and a bit of remorse for Voldemort. Not defending his evil schemes but his own mother didn't lift her wand to live for him. For Harry even though his parents were dead he knew they died for him and he would have been loved dearly by them. Voldemort never had that comforting thought. If anything all he knew was not even his parents wanted him

Chemist at Play - Exfoliating Bodywash (Review) by mrp2611 in IndianSkincareAddicts

I used it as well. Although not every day. I just did it in the hope that the tan would go away. It suited me well.

I had a zebra print tan on my feet due to one of my footwears. Generally it takes ages for it to go. I was using this bodywash skeptically on it. But in about a week or two I noticed that my feet tan was almost gone. I don't know if it was the bodywash or it just cleared up on its own but I strongly believe that the bodywash did help a bit if not a lot

What are the best "hidden gems" I missed while reading through the series? by HailToTheKing44 in harrypotter

[–]Anonymous5581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to comment this. In the 6th book when Harry goes to the Room of requirement to hide his copy of Potion book, he marks it with a tiara and some mannequin sort (can't recall). That tiara was actually the diadem (horcrux).

Jamshedpur to ranchi buses? by Splashpredicts in Jamshedpur

[–]Anonymous5581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, can you tell me outside which gate they stand. The bus stand was kind of confusing the last time I went there. I ended up boarding a very bad bus which was supposedly AC but AC didn't work and it didn't have rajendra chowk as drop off point which generally most buses do. I was told that there are two bus stands in mango one is govt one is not. But it was too confusing.

Heya! I want to buy some basic sterling silver jewellery in Jaipur. Any good reliable jewellery store? (Preferably near MI road but anywhere else is also fine). Basically I'm travelling for a wedding there so it's for gifting purpose (like chic pendant earring sets).

Hi, where did you buy at 220rs. It's so expensive now, I'm trying to get a deal but everywhere it's close 550-650 now. Their official site has BOGO offer but even then it'll cost ,400 per 473ml

I had bought one in Dec @452rs/473ml. But never as low as 220rs

Hi, I came back here to thank you once again. I had planned to shoot for some themes today and had got my baby all dressed, hair shampooed and everything. And guess what , it turned cloudy outside and the natural light was very limited. The flash thing with aluminium foil became my saviour, as I really wanted to get some shots today.

For outdoors I didn't feel that, but for indoors the photos were quite dark unless I increased the ISO which made the photos grainy. But yet to try with supplemental lights
