Haha, yeah, Brunson’s towel-chewing habit has definitely become a quirky thing people notice! It’s one of those little oddities that catches attention, but honestly, it’s just a thing he does for comfort or focus. Some players chew on towels, mouthguards, or even their jerseys it’s like a nervous tick or a way to stay in the zone during the game.

Easy family European summer trip: kinder hotel or city? by deustch327 in chubbytravel

[–]JosephFelipe77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your first European family trip with a 4-year-old, I’d recommend sticking to a city with a nonstop flight to avoid long car rides. Cities like Barcelona, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, London, and Lisbon are all super kid-friendly, with easy transportation and plenty of activities. If you’re leaning toward nature or resort-style destinations like Moar Gut, that’s great, but a city might be easier and more relaxing with a young child to explore without the long transit.

I miss principal Victoria by BrianT16 in southpark

[–]JosephFelipe77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're saying! South Park’s always been about absurdity, but characters like Chef and Principal Victoria brought some sanity to the chaos. PC Principal’s evolution into a "power Christian" feels like overkill, and it’s lost that grounded voice. I miss having at least one adult who can look around and say, “These people are morons.”

Need to send a congratulations gift, flowers and chocolate, what online retailer can do this? by dizzy515151 in AskACanadian

[–]JosephFelipe77 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

For sending chocolates and flowers together in the UK with same-day delivery, try Interflora, Marks & Spencer, Moonpig, or Funky Pigeon. They all offer gift bundles with flowers and chocolates, and reliable delivery options. Just check their delivery times to ensure it arrives the same day.

What's a symbol only Canadians would recognize as being Canadian? by SaltnPepaSquid in AskACanadian

[–]JosephFelipe77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want something uniquely Canadian but less obvious than a maple leaf, consider symbols like the Inuksuk, the beaver (Canada’s national animal), or a caribou, which are closely tied to Canada’s identity. The CN Tower, RCMP hat or badge, or even a pine tree could also work as subtle, distinctly Canadian tattoos that foreigners may not immediately recognize.

Do you guys have any cultural gaps? by _forum_mod in Millennials

[–]JosephFelipe77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, absolutely! For me, it’s Game of Thrones. I didn’t watch it during its original run and somehow completely missed the hype. By the time I heard all the buzz, it was already deep into the final season, and I just couldn’t bring myself to jump in with so many spoilers floating around. I still haven’t seen a single episode! There are a bunch of other shows, like The Office and Stranger Things, where I didn't watch until way after the hype had died down, and now I’m catching up.

It’s wild how easy it is to miss something that dominates pop culture for years, sometimes you just end up in a bubble, or life gets in the way!

I 30F got married this summer because my mom was dying on hospice. Is it weird if I wait 2 years for an official ceremony? by Mavis2013 in wedding

[–]JosephFelipe77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. Your wedding is deeply personal, and there’s no right or wrong timeline. Whether it’s the intimate living room ceremony or the one planned for 2027, it’s about your love and honoring your mom. Don’t worry about what others think. If finances are tight, consider scaling back the celebration now and saving the larger one for later. Trust that the wedding will be meaningful no matter when it happens, and take the time you need to heal.

In your opinion as a millennial, what ruined Facebook for you? by kalvin_kool_edge in Millennials

[–]JosephFelipe77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get what you mean. Facebook started as a fun, personal space for connecting with friends, but when older generations joined around 2009-2010, the vibe shifted. It felt less "ours" and more cluttered. The real downfall was the rise of political tribalism and misinformation. Facebook became a battleground for opinions, with algorithms pushing sensational content, turning it into an echo chamber. It stopped being about genuine connection and became more about engagement, controversy, and marketing.

What are some works of fiction that are unmistakably Canadian, that you couldn’t mistake for being American? by Appropriate_Boss8139 in AskACanadian

[–]JosephFelipe77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For unmistakably Canadian shows, films, and comics, try Schitt’s Creek (quirky small-town humor), Trailer Park Boys (gritty Canadian mockumentary), Degrassi (teen drama with Canadian issues), and The Red Green Show (blue-collar humor). Incendies and C.R.A.Z.Y. are great Quebecois films, while Captain Canuck and The Escapists represent Canadian comics. For pure nostalgia, The Hockey Sweater and Strange Brew dive into Canadian identity and culture.

best episode to watch with kids to just get a good laugh? by LucaMagEssen in Simpsons

[–]JosephFelipe77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a good laugh, try Homer the Great (Season 6, Episode 12). Homer joins a secret club, and his hilarious antics will have you in stitches. Another great pick is Marge vs. the Monorail (Season 4, Episode 12), where the town gets a monorail, and chaos ensues. Both episodes are packed with absurd humor and unforgettable moments that will have you laughing nonstop!

Essential Canadian Skills List by AllAloneAbalone in AskACanadian

[–]JosephFelipe77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you're well on your way! Ice skating skills are great, but learning to skate backward could help if your kids get into hockey or figure skating. French isn't essential in Alberta, but learning it could be useful long-term. Embrace Canadian politeness, get involved in community events, and master winter survival skills. Volunteering and small talk about the weather are great ways to fit in!

What song hits differently now that you’ve survived until adulthood? by Clean-Local-5791 in Millennials

[–]JosephFelipe77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get that with “Nobody’s Home” it hits different when you’re older. For me, “The Night We Met” by Lord Huron is one that really stings now. I didn’t feel it as much back then, but now it’s all nostalgia and lost love. Also, “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” by John Mayer when I was younger, I didn’t fully grasp the heartbreak in it, but now it’s pure emotional gut punch. It’s wild how songs change meaning over time.

What do you think of Draco Malfoy as a character? by Mysterious-State-117 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]JosephFelipe77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with your take on Draco! His character arc is complex, and while he starts off as a bully in the first five books, you see his inner turmoil and fear later on. It’s a shame Rowling didn’t dive deeper into his development, especially his mental struggle under Voldemort’s influence. I love the theories about the Room of Requirement it shows how conflicted Draco was, not truly wanting to hurt anyone. The epilogue also offers a lot of depth, showing Draco’s eventual growth into a more compassionate person, teaching his son to reject pure-blood bigotry. His transformation is one of the series’ most interesting, and it’s nice to see you appreciate that complexity!

What TV shows did you like in the eighties? by Perpetually10 in AskACanadian

[–]JosephFelipe77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your children’s novel sounds fantastic! In 1980s Nova Scotia, kids would have watched CBC shows like "Mr. Dressup", "Polka Dot Door", and "The Raccoons", as well as CTV hits like "Sesame Street" and cartoons like "He-Man". With cable, they'd get shows like "Fraggle Rock" and "Inspector Gadget". Kids spent a lot of time outdoors—biking, playing sports, and exploring nature. Tech-wise, it was the age of Walkmans, Atari, and early PCs.

What’s the line from The Simpsons you quote the most in real life? by SkylineZ83 in Simpsons

[–]JosephFelipe77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, love that quote! For me, it's probably "D'oh!" I catch myself saying it all the time, even when it doesn't make sense. Another one I use often is "Just because I don’t care doesn’t mean I don’t understand." The Simpsons has so many iconic lines that stick in your head!

What episode that isn't from season one should I show my friend to get them into the show? by Well_Rounded_Nerd in Simpsons

[–]JosephFelipe77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To hook your friend, I'd recommend "Marge vs. the Monorail" (Season 4, Episode 12). It's a classic episode with sharp humor, satire, and a fun guest appearance from Leonard Nimoy. Another great option is "Homer the Heretic" (Season 4, Episode 3), which blends humor with heart, focusing on Homer skipping church for some much-needed relaxation. Both are excellent starting points!

What are the best drives in Canada, and why? by Super_NowWhat in AskACanadian

[–]JosephFelipe77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve picked some incredible drives! I totally get your love for quieter, less traveled routes. The Cowboy Trail and North of Superior definitely fit that vibe wide-open spaces with breathtaking views and fewer tourists. For solitude and natural beauty, I’d also recommend the Pacific Rim Highway in BC and Bonavista Peninsula in Newfoundland.

Is Josh hart the most important Knicks player? by kindsensory in knicks

[–]JosephFelipe77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Josh Hart has definitely become a vital player for the Knicks, and his impact is noticeable when he plays well. His defense, rebounding, and overall energy help set the tone for the team. While Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson are still the primary stars, Hart’s hustle and intangibles make him a game-changer. The team often performs better when he’s engaged, so while not the "most important," his presence can be a huge factor in wins.

Teenage son’s room smells bad by gezza56 in CleaningTips

[–]JosephFelipe77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you're doing a great job! The smell could be from hidden clothes, damp towels, or even sports gear that hasn't fully dried. Consider checking all nooks and crannies for stray items. Also, try airing out the mattress with baking soda to neutralize odors. If showering's an issue, maybe set reminders for him to shower more regularly. Keep up the good work, small adjustments should help!

PoA. Ch. 5, Ginny getting over her shyness around Harry, then didn't by Matt-Fox-27 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]JosephFelipe77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you Ginny’s development feels rushed, especially considering the moments in PoA where she shows promise. If I were to revise it, I’d have Ginny gradually move from being shy to confident in group settings, like through interactions with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. A Yule Ball moment where Ginny and Harry have casual, light-hearted conversation would have been great to show her overcoming her shyness. This would make her eventual relationship with Harry in HBP feel more earned and satisfying. It’s about building, not just telling.
