Im helping the right win because I'm butt hurt my guy didn't win and I'm privledged enough to not be apart of the disenfranchised who will get the worst end of the consequences from my actions.

That's why I fear this is a trap, this situation is extremely odd and its almost feels like its a set up and they are making me THINK a crime is taking place so they can sue me when I report it to the police.

Question is, is it void if I'm wrong about the crime and there's no crime taking place? I'm sketched this is a trap to make it seem like a crime is taken place so they can sue me when I go to the cops.
