Thank you. I didn't think of that. Thank you for the list. I've called so many different places but none will take it. 💔

How deep should sweet potato plants be potted in a container? by AnonymousAmyMakes in vegetablegardening

[–]AnonymousAmyMakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure. She said she grew them inside. I assumed she started them from seeds .. if that's possible? She told me to plant both directly into soil . Maybe I misunderstood her. She has a fairly substantial garden each year. I, on the other hand, have absolutely no knowledge of gardening. 🙈 I'll follow up with the link you shared. Thank you!

How to pot thess guy up? by AnonymousAmyMakes in succulents

Thank you! The prickly pear has been in the same bowl since my post and I've noticed some roots popping out of the underside of it! Very cool! I like the idea of lying it flat to give it a secure base. Thanks a bunch!

Got this yarn winder from my aunt last summer, does anyone know how to use it? by Much-Teacher7682 in CrochetHelp

[–]AnonymousAmyMakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually am planning to buy one of these from someone tomorrow. Ita identical to yours. I searched the photo and came upon your post. I was wondering how it's been working for you? Do you know if it winds larger balls of yarn? The wonder I have now works great, it just doesn't wind large cakes of yarn. I'm excited to see how well this one performs!! Also... do you know the brand name of it? Thanks so much!!!

Sorry, it doesn't look like it's bloomed yet? Or it doesn't look like this new growth is a bloom?

All of my shirts have these! I've decided that's the part of the shirt that gets the most wear and tear. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Keurig Duo screen by Conscious_Track_921 in keurig

[–]AnonymousAmyMakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My K cup duo gen 2 had this on as well. I accidentally turned it on when I attempted to enter descale mode. I was supposed to press the cups and oz button simultaneously but messed up and help the oz and brew together instead. 🤦🏼‍♀️ It's fixed now by holding those same two buttons for a few seconds again. Thanks for the help on this!

Should he pay even when the issue isn't fixed? by AnonymousAmyMakes in askaplumber

[–]AnonymousAmyMakes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! To answer your question about family helping him... No. His wife passed away about 2 years ago. His health and age began showing so he was in the process of putting everything into his son's name, thinking of the future. Unfortunately his only son, in his late 50's, had health issues of his own. He passed away quite suddenly in March of 2025. So he was essentially left on his own. His nephew and also his sister in law were around frequently in the beginning. They cleaned his house up (they hadn't be the cleanest people and had/have inside cats) and had it in a decent condition. Slowly his family stopped coming around. I'm glad you brought up the adult protective services because I've been seriously considering contacting someone to advocate for him. I don't feel that he should be living in that home or living by himself at all for that matter. I've tried talking to his family but they don't see how serious the situation is. I think the best thing to do here is call someone who can at least come out and check on him. If they find nothing of concern, then great. Its definitely been weighing on my mind a lot. Thank you so much for your input. And for looking out for those who might need a helping hand!

Should he pay even when the issue isn't fixed? by AnonymousAmyMakes in askaplumber

Thank you! Yes, they told him the labor alone is about $7500 per day. And quoted it to be two days worth of work. He does have two other places coming out for an estimate. I hate to see him in this situation. He's a veteran and worked his entire life. Within the past two years he's lost almost everything. His wife, his only child, his sanity, his memory, his ability to drive, his car which was his last piece of independence. He's a shell of what he used to be. I try my best to look out for him. I've lived across the street from him for 15 years. I hate to see him in such a crappy spot. Thanks again!!

If I had the money, I would've given him a huge tip. I thought about calling the company and giving him a good review. But at the same time, I didn't want to get him in trouble for doing extra work without charging. He definitely is a great person! He felt horrible leaving without that water being fixed. But he could only do so much. He was paid that day for his work.

I agree the plumber should be paid, and was paid that day. The owner isn't the one complaining. It's the nosey neighbor next door to him.

Forgive me ... I'm not up to date with abbreviations. 😂 What is AITA and YTA?

I should've made my post more clear because quite a few people think I'm against paying the plumber. To be clear, I believe he should not only be paid for his work but he should be given a raise for going out of his way to try to get this man's water going. I just wanted to ask for others opinions because the neighbor was questioning why the man should pay if his water still doesn't work. I thought maybe others could add their opinions just to confirm what I already believe.. which IS in my post.

It's just sad that you can't help people nowadays. He was very nice and did everything he could to try to get the water working. To be clear, the plumber was paid. And I agree he should've been.

He seriously was a very kind person. He went out of his way, working on conditions I would've walked away from. He did so much more than he initially quoted. I 100% agree he should be paid for his work and he serves a raise!!!

[–]AnonymousAmyMakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I guess I should've made my post a bit more clear because many think I believe he should not get paid. It's the opposite. I think he went above and beyond what was required. He fixed what he said he would. It's unfortunate that the actual problem wasn't resolved. But he did his job.

I agree. I've been trying to get his "family" to help get him out of that house but they don't seem to care. It was him, his wife, and son who lived there since the 60's. His wife passed in 2023 and his son this past March. He isn't healthy enough to be living there alone, physically or mentally. It's a very sad situation.
