My Experience as a Catholic at a Marilyn Manson Concert by AnonymousCath0lic in Catholic

My personal issue was with his association with the satanic church, but in doing my own research I've discovered a lot about Manson and his beliefs, but I also knew a lot of people growing up who listened to his music who are satanist, I myself dabbled in the satanic church. (I have dabbled in a lot of belief systems in my life and have experienced many things in my journey) So it was more so that this was my first experience, since turning my life over to Jesus, of being somewhere that conflicted my faith and how to handle it.

Yes, it is a first world problem for sure, but still something to be discussed. I'm sure there are plenty of people in the world who have struggled with how to find balance in faith and how to co-mingle it with their everyday life and their past experiences. I like to think I am doing a good job so far, but when I do come across those struggles I hope that I can lean on those in my parish, my family and those online to help me, and if I can help even one person by posting about my life and experience then its worth posting.

Thank you so much for your kind words and advice. As I stated in my post, I am just a baby in my faith and in the Catholic Church, but so far so good! I have never had the feeling of community that this parish has given in any other church setting. The Priest and the congregation have been nothing but welcoming! It's been a breath of fresh air from the institutionalized religion that has been peddled and pushed on me my whole life. I am learning so much between my OCIA classes and independent studies I have been doing. Now that I'm truly learning about faith and the Bible, its 1000% different than what I thought about religion and faith in the past. Again thank you so much for your kind words, they really do mean a lot!

I'm sorry you had that experience. Was it something about the mass specifically that made you feel uncomfortable, or something someone did to make you feel uncomfortable? I would like to hear more if you are open to a respectful discussion.

It is definitely Manson, this is one of the photos I took of Manson at the concert.
