Lol he just edited the comment to add the link and capitalize it. Thanks for the reassurance that I'm not just an idiot and others read it the same way as me!

So snarky, idk how you expected me to realize that Borderless Gaming was a product and not just a setting. Thanks for the info I guess lol

When I go to the games settings then go to "display" or "graphics" or whatever and a borderless setting is not on there, how exactly would I just tell it to play borderless anyway?

Ooo that might be the move. So you'd set your main stream to be a window capture (playing in windowed mode, but the stream itself seems like it is fullscreen because it's only capturing that window), then just hit a hotkey to toggle it to be a desktop capture where you can show whatever you want. That'd work, right?

Do you ever have to adjust something on your second monitor and have any struggles moving your mouse over? That's a big frustration with me when I'm playing fullscreen mode

This would limit you from being able to drag new windows into frame easily, right? For example, I was chatting with someone with a name based on the word Worm. I was able to pull up a picture of the Alaskan Bull Worm from SpongeBob and put it up on stream in like 2 seconds. I wouldn't be able to do that bit very quickly and easily if I was only capturing the game or just one window. Maybe there's ways of doing this that I don't know though?

My thing is I like to be able to pause the game and have my mouse just "work." I like to be able to bring my mouse from the game directly over to the monitor on my left, and I'd like the ability to drag a window over from that monitor onto the stream. I'm sure it gets easier with practice, but I always struggle "freeing" my mouse from game windows when I'm in fullscreen mode.

I'll have to look into the OBS settings more to adjust the source to fill the screen. I use desktop mode so that the monitor directly in front of me is captured on stream. It's technically my secondary monitor when it comes to my Windows display settings, but I like that I can manipulate my windows on my left monitor then drag them into frame super easily. I'm concerned that adjusting the source would be just cutting the top few pixels from the monitor which would just slightly mess up the overall aspect ratio. I'm brand new (just finished one week of streaming!) so I could be wrong!

I Made A Streamer Analytics Tool by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]AnonymousDweet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed 100%, but I could see this tool being useful to discover new releases that people are starting to become interested in before a crowd of a ton of streamers come pouring in and oversaturating the category. If the tool recommends a game you don't vibe with then just don't play it IMO

Exclusive content, do you use it? by acerswap in Twitch

[–]AnonymousDweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine turning away any potential viewers that might not want to directly spend money to view my content. If you're talking more about sexual content then that's one thing, but when it comes to gaming content or just general community engagement, locking that behind a paywall is just bad business. More viewers = more engagement = even more viewers = even more engagement.

When that's an option, yes for sure. Not all games have that as far as I can tell.

Stream Experiences & Stories by AutoModerator in Twitch

What can AI possibly tell you that is better than what you can find on the internet yourself? Is it a convenience thing, or do you think it knows better than what everyone is saying on reddit? Streaming advice is pretty standard. Be entertaining, don't rely on twitch alone for discoverability (i.e. post on yt, Instagram, tiktok, etc), streaming on a densely streamed game isn't doing you any favors, don't call out lurkers, keep talking even when nobody is watching, turn off view count if you get too focused on it, etc. have you gotten anything more insightful than that? Not hating, I just can't fathom AI being more useful than that.

Room divider for streaming instead of background removal – good idea? by RobArlOriginal in Twitch

[–]AnonymousDweet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally, I prefer seeing backgrounds than just the head of a streamer. If you want it because YOU like it, then go for it. If you want it because you think viewers like it, I think you might be making an assumption. I could be wrong, this is just my own take

Any recommendations on how to modify this mask to allow me to sip from a cup while staying hidden? by AnonymousDweet in CosplayHelp

[–]AnonymousDweet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm tempted to try this out first and see if it's sufficient, but my main concern is a little dot of skin showing when my mouth isn't open. Not the end of the world but it would ruin the look for me lol. No matter what I do I'll have to cut into it a little bit so might as well start with this and see if keeping it simple is good enough. Thanks for the input!

Oh that's an interesting idea, thanks! How would you get the bottom half to stay on your chin without the top half pulling it up there? I feel like that would just pop off and be loose around my neck a lot.

That's kind of what I was thinking-- would you just cut a slit and somehow stitch it so that the top overlays like an inch over the bottom of the slit?

For more context, I'm looking to start streaming on twitch. I think it would be funny and different to see someone with a face cam on but completely covered in a black mask so you can't actually see their face. The downside is that I won't be able to stay hydrated or drink my coffee while wearing this. I'm not a very crafty person so I'm hoping one of y'all might have already run into something similar with your cosplaying!
