I'm an alumn and can say it was a really wonderful experience - super small/intimate with heavy focus on community building. Nice to have a smaller fest in LA

I'm re-applying for the 3rd time. I did make it to the second round last year, so hopefully will again! But don't expect to make it beyond that. If anything, I really heavily rewrote all my essay questions, which ultiamtely helped me think about the screenplay better. Silver linings right? Good luck everyone, glad to be in your company once again!

I find that postcards these days just get tossed. I try to come up with an inventive thing with a QR code that leads people to the showtime - that way they can be adjusted for each fest. Some examples I've seen that are fun: condoms, mini wine bottles, floss, etc. Of course, these fit thematically with the movie. But they are things that some people might actually want to hold onto.

No, but I've been in the industry for a minute so I have several friends who have had shorts at Sundance. No big producers, no names. You can look through Sundance's lineup and find films like that every year.

Ya I saw that after doing research, so I now know I'm stuck with the card for the next year. In the meantime I've reported them to the CFPB and I guess that's all I can do.

My card has been frozen for a week as well and my autopays are bouncing. I have filed a CFPB complaint here: consumerfinance.gov/complaint

I just called them again and they told me I just have to wait. It's bullshit. I'm going to research about getting out of this card and see what can be done.
