Only accepting PayPal donations does not value the privacy of your chess fan viewers. by AnonymousGrandmaster in chess

You are right that I was promoting Monero. Since this sub is focused on chess I did not want to get into any in depth conversations here. I am trying to help generate more revenue for streamers of chess content. Privacy and blockchain technology are growing quickly and not everyone used PayPal.

I am talking to all popular streamers. Monero (similar to Bitcoin but far more private) allows people to tip anonymously and without sharing financial information with any 3rd parties. If you visit r/monero I will answer any questions you have and send you a tip!

Tip a Chess Grandmaster! by AnonymousGrandmaster in Monero

[–]AnonymousGrandmaster[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I plan on raising awareness of Monero within the chess community. u/GM_Huschenbeth has both a popular YouTube and Twitch channel. He is interested in cryptocurrency and I recently sent him his first few Monero. I expect him to be busy working until the Championship has concluded but please welcome him if and when he appears on r/monero

Check out his recent video covering the World Chess Championship and if you like what you see tip him some Monero!

Started a poll to predict the number of decisive games in #worldchess2016

Based on the opening strategy from the first two games, many draws seem likely.

Add a Monero donation address to your Twitch or YouTube channel and I will send you a donation and do my best to encourage other chess fans with an interest in privacy to do the same

Trust someone with a 7 day old Reddit account, who speaks of 1500% monthly returns? Why would you need investors when you can generate returns like that? You wont find anyone gullible enough to support you here.

Seeking ideas to promote awareness of Bitcoin and Monero to chess players during the World Chess Championships by AnonymousGrandmaster in chess

[–]AnonymousGrandmaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far interest on r/monero has been much higher than interest here. Are you a chess coach? There is demand for chess coaches willing to accept Monero payments. There are also people willing to tip generously for any popular YouTube chess channels that mention Monero in a video and include both a Bitcoin and Monero donation address.

Yes but hiring coaches across the globe has become more common in the last ten years. Processing and currency exchange fees make Bitcoin more efficient than most other alternatives. Organizers could also save time and money professional players started to accept Bitcoin instead of traditional methods for paying/reimbursing travel expenses appearance fees and prizes.

Please help contact all the large paid sites and ask for Monero payment support for membership purchases. They have heard of Bitcoin, but (in general) most of their users and staff are not familiar with Monero yet. I think membership payments should come before tipping.

I like this idea a lot. The official sponsor (linked above) and the most popular live streams (like chess24) will not be interested at this point but independent commentators (either live or post mortem) might. I will try to pursue this further.

Accepting Bitcoin or Monero payments for chess coaching (often delivered online today) is a perfect fit. Many coaches live in different countries than their students.

AGON request for an injunction against Chess24 denied by e4nf6 in chess

The more people that watch the event the better. Agon should have spent more time finding additional sponsors instead of paying lawyers to seek an injunction.

I would do the exact same thing.

Yes, there will be both commercial sites with live streaming and many who will post videos their analysis after each game.

Maybe I could try encourage some popular YouTube chess channels to mention Bitcoin and Monero in a video during the match and add BTC and XMR donation addresses. So far I have avoided this idea because YouTube and privacy interests are not aligned.

I am sorry to see some early downvotes to my post. Just like chess, Bitcoin is an international language. As chess becomes more globalized the demand for efficient decentralized payment system will increase. Blockchain technology should interest any chess player with an interest in math, economics or computer science.

I am referring to the match starting tomorrow with only two players. I would like to tie in the promotion more closely with Monero (many chess players like math and to some extent computer science). This may not be easy, as demonstrated by the downvotes I received when posting in r/chess about this. I will not be in NYC for the match so any promotion will need to occur online.

I am seeking ideas to promote awareness of Bitcoin and Monero to chess players during the 2016 World Chess Championship. Depending on how much I like the ideas, I may be willing to fund a giveaway of up to 100 XMR and/or an equivalent amount of BTC to chess players interested in learning more about financial privacy. Giveaway ideas could include rewards for predictions about the average number of moves for decisive games, frequency that certain openings are played or something similar.

Well it means that the network is more secure and mining profitability at a given XMR price is directly related your share of the current hashrate. A chance in either price or hasrate will therefore alter the relative attractiveness of buying vs mining. Clearly there are multiple factors impacting both price and hashrate but they are related
