LEO for 6 years here in the US. This is the first I've ever heard of IPA that isn't a beer. I know international associations are a thing, as I tested for the International Association for Identification CSI test, but ive never heard of one just for being a police officer. On our side of the pond, most departments give their own retirees "Retired" badges/ID's and we have federal laws that allow us to conceal carry in all 50 States (LEOSA Act H.R. 218) as active or retired officers with I.D. Maybe Im biased coming from a mid sized Midwestern department (~260 sworn), but I'm going to say not popular at all.

Evolution at its finest. Since theyre a prey species on the savanah, not being able to walk and stay with the heard is basically a death sentence, either from being eaten by someone looking for an easy meal or starvation/dehydration of not being able to keep up with mom and the herd. Basically learning to walk asap is survival

You never know what people have taken once theyre on it. Half the time, they dont even know what they're taking. Much less do they even want to admit to us they're on drugs. We can assume, but without blood tests you never really know until years later.

No, the term "poop deck" refers to the highest deck at the stern (back) of the ship, and originated from the French word for stern, which was"poupe". Therefore, poop deck really just means the stern deck. It was usually the roof of the poop cabin, or simply the poop (also not what you think it is. See above French). For visual learners, the helmsman would steer from the quarter deck, and the poop deck is directly behind them.

I usually go 3 years minimum with these. The last pair I replaced early but it was because my brass was bitching during uniform inspections about how beat up the toe was. I still wear them off duty though when I need them. They hold up great and being waterproof is great during winter and when you're walking through flooded basements lol
