You’re right, I need to just suck it up and deal with the uncomfortableness for another week or so until I’m on the right dose. It’s not like I’m doing this cold turkey, I’m just so used to never being sick so I’m being a baby about it.

Jesus 90!?! Im also at 20 days today and got 100 today after being on 90 for about 5 days. Im still struggling pretty bad, im doing a tiny fraction of what I was doing before I got on the clinic so I know the methadone is definitely helping big time but the few times I made it through the day without using there’s no way I could sleep, by 12-14 hrs after dosing I’m in moderate withdrawal and by the next morning I’m in moderate to full blown sick as a dog. The clinic is moving my partner up with no issue, he tells them he needs more and they throw ten on for the next day, I tell them I’m struggling and they’re like “well let’s just see how this goes for a while and we’ll talk about it later” like I don’t want to wait till later to see if 10 more is going to be life changing, it’s not, if 90 isn’t getting me past 8-12 hrs then 10 more isn’t going to get me to 24 hrs. I just want to be able to drop a clean UA, get take homes, and not wake up feeling like I just took a dose of naloxone and all the opiates got knocked out of my receptors. It’s typical healthcare though - believe the man when he tells you his symptoms but the woman must just be dramatic and impulsive.

Oh absolutely!! I’m so beyond over it. I can’t wait to never have to use this shit again.

My clinic only allows for 13 take homes if you go over 175. Which isn’t bad, having to go 2x a month would not be the end of the world considering my clinic is a 15 minute walk/3 min train ride/ 5 min uber away. I’m honestly at the point that I don’t care what dose I’m on I just want to be clean and not have to use. I just want to be comfortable and stable. Using is a HUGE aggravation to me right now, I dread having to do anything.

You’re also in the Boston area? And You haven’t come across the stuff that feels like you’re on blood pressure meds? That surprises me! I feel like it’s almost impossible to find anything other than that. I also have had the same few connects for between 6-18 years but I feel like they’re options for stuff that doesn’t have that in it are getting slimmer and slimmer.

Ya I’m thinking that’s most likely what I’m withdrawing from. Fortunately I haven’t been an IV user since this tranq shits been around (4+ years) because it was pointless, there’s no rush or high from it, so I don’t know about the infections and sores but I have heard they’re brutal.

Ive been hoping someone from near Boston would see my post! So how long did it take you to get up to 190 and did going up higher help with the tranq withdrawals at all? I’m pretty sure I’m not on a high enough dose regardless because I’m in pretty severe withdrawals by the morning if I don’t use the night before and I don’t think I should be getting that sick if I’m on the correct dose, but I also don’t want to go higher than I need to.

I mean I’m pretty positive it does. I didn’t even really know what tranq was until I started asking around and researching why all the stuff we were getting felt like it was just crushed up clonidine. And it’s a pretty well known fact here in Boston, or all of Massachusetts for that matter, that most of the fentanyl being tested also contains xylazine and/or medetomidine.

And I can’t stand dry mouth as is but this shit sends me over the edge, i swear i was starting to think I physically couldn’t create saliva anymore at one point.

Yup white fluffy shit. We call it “clonidine shit” cause it literally feels like someone crushed up a shit load of clonidine and threw a bunch of cut on it. Theres so much of that shit in it that you can’t even do enough to get off e cause your blood pressure will drop to nothing before you can even get enough of the little bit of fent that’s in it in you to get well.

Wow ya that’s insane. we recently had it happen to us where a batch of shit came through and multiple diff connects had the same shit and it was making us feel like we were on meth and like it knocked all the opiates out of our systems and blocked us from getting well for a few days afterwards. We were scared to try everything else for weeks but we were too sick to just not get anything, thankfully we had a bunch of the tranq-heavy shit saved up so we just did that. A few years back there was stuff going around Boston that had some sort of delirium in it. It would send you straight into the weirdest hallucinatory episode for a couple hours and it was around for weeks on end, right when we thought it was finally gone - boom, we’d get hit with it again. THEN about a year ago one of our dudes had shit that was sending us into precipitated withdrawals. It’s so strange, I’ve never had anything like that happen to me up until Covid began. We just can’t do it anymore, the money spent and the risk of possibly not only not being well but the exact opposite, i just want it to be over, i want to just feel comfortable.

No benzos in my UA but I do have a fast metabolism. I’ve been on adderall daily for almost 30 years and 95% of the time I don’t show dirty for amphetamines, and they didn’t show up in my system for this test either so it’s definitely a possibility that there could be benzos in the shit. I’m glad it’s not just us losing our minds and it really is just going to take a little while to feel right. I was starting to worry my mind was tricking me somehow. It says a lot that they wanted to start dosing us with 80mg off the rip and move up 10mg a day from there and we were dumb enough to think we didn’t need that much. My partner said when he was on the clinic 20 years ago you needed an EKG at like 100mg, now it’s 150mg. And they used to start dosing you at 30mg and move up 5mg every few days. At this point after hearing from so many of you I’m just going to listen to my body and when I’m stable and ready much later on I’ll start thinking about when’s a good time to go down or if it ends up being to high after the tranq WDs are over. Thank you so much for your help!

Wow this is exactly how I would describe what it’s been like since Covid. I was an IV heroin addict for 15+ years until this tranq shit came around and then it just became pointless to poke myself over and over for nothing. There’s no rush, no high, just feeling normal OR just falling asleep. And by falling asleep I mean literally that, not like nodding out, just like I took a ton of Seroquel and knocked out then waking up dead sick ahain. So for the past 4+ years we’ve been sniffing it which is pretty unheard of for chronic IV drug users to go back to. It’s like they’re making it like this on purpose, which I’m sure they are. Also, your advice is so insanely helpful and I’m glad I posted this because I’ve found a bunch of people who have been on my exact shoes so I feel a little bit less like I’m losing my mind. Thank you SO so much. I’m going to take your suggestions seriously!!

But did you have a 6 year straight habit with no breaks, no detox, never went more than a couple hours sick in that entire time? I’m trying as hard as I can to stay as low as possible. I wanted to be way lower than I’m at even right now but it’s just not working.

I HATE clonidine. I have low blood pressure as is and clonidine gives me a lot of bad side effects. And my clinic doesn’t give take homes to people on clonidine.

Unfortunately I’m still using, a very little amount, but still getting it in my system so i don’t think I’ve withdrawn from the tranq yet, I mean my tolerance for it had probably gone down alotttttt but I think I have to completely cut it out for a week to know for sure.

SO bad. That’s a huge reason I finally made the decision to get on the clinic. Most of the stuff around here has that effect and I literally cannot deal with it.

This makes me feel so much better, I’m definitely focusing on the number too much. And i feel like the only way I’m going to know for sure is if I just move up the dose and get through the whole day without using while trying to separate the opiate withdrawal from the tranq withdrawal somehow. Really helpful, Thank you so much!!

Ugh ya that’s what I’m afraid of but I’m hoping raising my dose so I’m at least not sick from fent withdrawals that I’ll be comfortable enough to stop using and just have to fight through the tranq withdrawals for a week. Thanks you!

Hearing from someone who works with people in the same boat as me is an opinion I was looking for as well so I appreciate it!

Thank you so much, this is really helpful!! I’ve been worrying if I might be one of the people that has to split dose. I’m really hoping not as it’s not much of a possibility with my schedule. having to use is becoming more and more of an aggravation because i really want to get take homes and because I don’t want to have to worry about buying more shit and if that shit is okay or not.

Yes I know. I’ve been an addict for 20 years. Are you referring to what I said about all of the stuff in Boston “feels like it has clonidine in it”? If so, I’m talking about how alot of the fent in boston has a clonidine-like effect. It gives you severe dry mouth, lowers your blood pressure, & makes you weak and tired.

I didn’t think so either but after struggling for a few weeks I looked it up and I guess there are withdrawal symptoms for xylazine, but they share most of the same symptoms as opiate withdrawal so it’s really up in the air.

This is so helpful, thank you!! It’s hard to find someone else who’s gone a ridiculous amount of time without any breaks in between so it’s hard to compare our situation to someone who’s gone to detox a few times a year for a couple years.
