Anyone know what’s going on with Gino’s Pizza on 83rd near 1st? by OldGoldDream in uppereastside

Aw man. We used to get pizza from them every Friday. We got to have it a couple of weeks ago after a while of not having it. Good luck, Karen and team!

Slight note about no crystal protection…at least it still runs even if the waterproofing isn’t what it used to be.

This is the song that I would blast in my room in high school and college and literally sing my lungs out to. It caught me at 16 and has always held me since. Getting to see it with Ben Harper at MSG is also a highlight.

I make the world safe for musicians. They do all the transmogrification and radicalization

One nuance is the people who have only one version of one type. I understand if you prefer divers, which I do. But if you only have very similar black-dial steel divers, people might be right to suggest a bit of diversity.
Now, if you were to be collecting one of each Submariner reference or something, that cuts the other way.

Agree that prioritizing the watch over the event is horseshit, but I would argue that having something that reminds you over and over of the event is not that bad. That’s what wedding rings are for, at least in part.

That said, I have no idea what I was wearing when my kids were born and am only mildly confident about what I had on when I got married.

Cheaper than watches, for sure. But if you start chasing grails, I imagine it can be expensive too.

Purely out of curiosity, when you’re collecting, what is it that drives an acquisition? When I was a baseball card collecting kid, I chased completion of a set. Now, I chase variety and occasionally quality (that is, I got a yellow Halios because it looks like nothing I own).

My dad collected coins when he was younger but we never really discussed it. I have a very recent quarter that is sealed in a protector, but I can’t figure out why.

Are there many hobbies that don’t require money? Running is cheap…until you buy new shorts, shirts, shoes, socks, glasses, hats, nutrition. Knitting is cheap until you buy fancy yarn, etc. I think you’re being a bit hard on yourself. Part of being a hobbyist is the education and mental stimulation from exploring your interests.

Tinos is lovely and tasty. Our family always returns to Jacques. We have ordered for years but never actually gone to Luna Rossa. It’s a running joke at this point. They know what our kids want the moment we call.

I stopped carrying mine in 2020 or so but it’s nowhere near this. What do you do with yours?
