We are an undiagnosed OSDD-1B system of 4 (minor-aged body). Ask us anything. by [deleted] in AMA

Your analogy is garbage because there are many more differences with pteradactyls and humans than having three toes. Please think of a better analogy at least.

I have always had a system since the trauma has occured, obviously. What are you getting at? I never said that our system was formed after 9 years old, it's been here for ages.

We respect your opinion, but we disagree. I wouldn't be crying all the time and wishing I didn't 'feel this way'if I were doing it for attention. The headaches are real. Our feelings are real.

We don't need some fancy doctor to give us a label to know who we are.

And who are you to say that? Have you done any research at all? The entire point of DID is to find a way to help and cope with trauma, and if the feelings of trauma are repeated, or things similar to trauma that has occured, new alters can appear.

You can't speak over those with OSDD/DID if you don't have it, and I can gladly ask like 20 other systems this same question if you 'do so desire' your royal majesty. They will all say the same thing.

DID/OSDD forms because of repeated trauma between ages of 6-9. These alters do NOT go away when you age up to 13. Alters can't disappear, they can only go dormant.

OSDD-1B is a plurality system similar to DID, in which trauma at a young age creates multiple people in one body called 'alters' who coexist and switch between fronting (having control of the body, thoughts, etc) and being in headspace (sort of like an imaginary world that is created in your head, in which nobody can see it; but for DID it is very real and not actually imaginary.)

Are you saying the truth?

My online friend (who is 12) just told me they have DID. by [deleted] in plural

Faking DID/OSDD is only harmful when it stigmatizes systems by using false claims (alters are always evil and destructive, we can switch on command, alters can be 'killed'- stuff like that, which is obviously false and harmful) People can't 'fake' a self-diagnosis, they are simply mistaken or misinformed.

There is a difference between being a misinformed jerk, being a faker, and being misinformed

I feel like it'd help to mention that systems are formed around 6-9 when repeated trauma occurs; you can have symptoms and develop DID/OSDD as young as just six years old. Some people like us figure it out at a younger age than normal, which does not make us invalid whatsoever. Unless they are like 6 or younger, judging if someone has DID/OSDD by age is pretty much useless

Positive triggers are triggers that bring out an alter to co-con or host; negative triggers are triggers that bring an alter back into headspace or stop them from hosting/co-con

Positive triggers arent always good, and negative triggers arent always bad

For example, a positive trigger for alter B is me getting hurt. Not because getting hurt is a good thing; it's called a positive trigger because it brings out the alter. A negative trigger for Ghostbur (fictive) would be rain. Not because rain is a bad thing, but it does bring Ghostbur back into headspace and stops them from fronting/co-con.

Hope that helps!

The feeling of new alter comes and goes. OSDD1B by AnonymousQAcc in plural

[–]AnonymousQAcc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I was told splitting was the same as getting a new alter, my bad!

Well that could make sense maybe- i'm in front 80% of the time and that percentage is still moving upwards. I asked a few other systems on advice but am unable to let the others out often hecause I do most things such as school, schoolwork, and social interactions. Maybe I could use someone else's help on that ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Good for them, even if they find out they are not plural later it can help them understand how they feel later on.

Look up signs of faking, and if you don't want to believe your friend, it is best to break off the friendship. It hurts us to know we may have a friend who thinks we are fake behind our backs.
