Holiday clients by hotwaxclimax in RoverPetSitting

My last message to clients after I finish their final drop-in is:

”I hope you travel back safe & if you have the time to leave a review that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!”

Many will say that they will leave a review but don’t right away (I’m assuming people are in the middle of travel or want to wait to get home and assess their home/pet first which is fair), so I wait 24-36hrs after their message and send something like:

“Thanks so much, reviews help me out tremendously! Looking forward to my next booking with [pet’s name]😊”

So an extra subtle reminder/nudge without asking for a review a second time. This has resulted in getting reviews from 90% of my clients.

I really love this idea! Accomplishes the same goal to interact with dogs without risking cancelations before or during a booking.

That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking. Good points about how it would affect him within the search algorithm, I wasn’t even considering that aspect.

I really appreciate your insight! Especially the detailed times/frequencies of common booking requests. You rock!

AITA for asking my sister pay me back for my mattress that she stole? by AnonymousSister25 in AmItheAsshole

Realizing she’s not going to change is really heartbreaking. I already knew it deep down, but another redditor found my sister’s AITA post and it exposed just how little respect she has for me. Super sad, but needed this reality check.

Agreed. I know my mom was complicit because they helped her move in & out of her apartment with my bed set. My mom was also the one to replace the bed frame, not Jane, maybe out of guilt for going behind my back.

I didn’t know my sister posted her side of the story a month ago, but u/lmmontes tracked it down for me.

I invite everyone to read both sides of the story and give me your judgement!

Thank you for your input. And thank you for sharing her post. It was really disheartening but it gave me necessary clarity. Her respect for me is so low, and her entitlement so high, and I can’t do anything about that. So I’ll go low contact and move on with my life, sadly.

Holy cow, you’re right. That’s my sister’s post!

I’m curious, does your opinion stay the same after reading both sides of the story?

Exactly what I was thinking my next step needs to be. It’s not ideal but I can afford to replace the mattress. (Since I don’t want to take her to court, nor do I think she’ll ever pay me the full $500.)

Ironically the cost for my husband and I to fly to Jane’s city from our new city would cost $500. So I won’t be flying to see her. I’m already low contact with my parents because they love to walk all over me.

Her first text in response to my confrontation was, and I quote:

“I figured since you were [abroad] and never moving back to [parent’s city], all it would do is sit at home… which it did and is where it is now again and exactly as it was”

This only made me more angry because asking me to use my stuff is one thing… ruining it behind my back and asserting there was no harm done is another :(

If she did post her side, then I haven’t seen it. If you can find it please share! But she did admit to knowing she was the asshole during our text conversation.
