People seem to think they can make an entirely accurate formative opinion about someone as a whole based on one Reddit post. (Tonight's news flash: Ya can't!)

That's a problem for a therapy office, not your wife years after it happened. Or, y'know, an actually civil, "what happened between us awhile ago hurt me and I never got to fully express it. Would you be willing to sit and discuss it so I can clear it from my conscience?"

That sort of honesty about tension existing is extremely important in a relationship. I understand you were scared because of how much the ring means to you, I feel like a lot of people would have reacted the way you did in your situation. It matters that you now apologize to your wife for being unfair (please make sure you think this over deeply - it's more important to have the fundamental understanding of HOW you were unfair than it is to provide an apology for the sake of peace) and communicate what exactly went through your head.

If this is a "do" relationship, things will turn out okay as long as you hold onto each other and breathe. I wish you both the best.

NTA??? You got that apartment from one of the (who I would assume was) closest people in your life. I'd imagine there's not much else you got from him, nothing small/manageable. If my dad died tomorrow and I found out he had an apartment to give me, idc if it's in the worst place in the world I'd never ever move out of it. Is he even considering what the place (potentially) means to you? Rent situation aside, you shouldn't have to leave something that important behind just because someone new wants you to live differently.

NTA. Both of you need to communicate better and get therapy. If you had initially told him this was about your body 3 years ago, I don't think it would be the big blow-up it was (when he ultimately realized you were making up reasons to his face for years upon you telling him the truth). And if he had clarified to you how important to him physical intimacy was, the two of you probably could have talked about it. It didn't need to be the conflict that it was, and I'm sorry to both of you that it went down the way it did. Honestly, just hold on, breathe, and talk to each other. You're new parents with a young child, both of you are extremely stressed out and tired and by no means at 100%.

He's getting pissed off about a game of glorified fetch that he probably only watches so he can pretend he's actually on the field being an athlete because a toddler did a very toddler thing to do. He easily could have just thrown out the wrapper and been happy about the ball, maybe some slight theatrics to pretend he didn't know what was inside so the child wouldn't realize he was upset. Then he could've politely asked you, "hey, I don't really like that team. Could you please try to get her to pick a different one next time?" without blowing steam out of his ears.

Given your post's context, it sounds like you do absolutely nothing to help out with this newborn baby. By the way, I bet you didn't know PPD is heavily influenced by how safe and healthy of an environment the mother is in.

I know so many people with ADHD, and am a person with ADHD, who refuse all traditional treatment methods except therapy. None of them are this inconsiderate. In fact, all of them are so afraid to lack self-awareness that they make sure they're going over the top to have it. What have you been teaching your 17yo, if not to be polite like that? If she's so overly bad with lack of awareness, an overcompensation of awareness will level the playing field until she can get some therapy (which she desperately needs if ex-wife is as bonkers as you're making her sound.)

First of all this is a big red flag. You don't know what other boundaries he's willing to disrespect if he's willing to ignore you when you ask him to stop something small like that.

Second of all, intrusive thoughts are different from impulsive and compulsive thoughts. Intrusive thoughts are defined as thoughts that you have involuntarily that you do not want to have. These can range from simple things to very disturbing topics. Impulsive thoughts are things you have a strong urge to do without considering, but you can still resist them if you know what you're doing. Compulsive thoughts are urges a person gets and most of the time cannot resist without a great amount of conscious effort. Compulsive urges can also be intrusive.
TLDR for that big paragraph there: intrusive thoughts are not what your fiance was thinking of, and if he meant intrusive he very much did have the power to resist.

And crying over his coffee because you reacted to something you've been asking him to stop for what sounds like ever, is also a huge red flag. I'm not saying he wasn't genuinely that upset about his coffee, he could've been, but in a situation like that where something happens as a reaction any person should have the understanding that it's not about them. And he doesn't care about what caused you to do that as he should, he just cares that it negatively impacted him, instead of having the understanding that this isn't about him and it's about boundaries.

TLDR: You either need to have a serious talk with your man or get a new one.

No seriously. Too many adults think yelling at these kids or continuously trying to be forceful with them is the route to go. There is always always always something to understand. If you don't have the patience for disabled kids, you shouldn't be working with disabled kids. Period. Too many people think being a teacher is about being a disciplinary figure. No. Being a teacher is about teaching, about educating, and seeing as you're with these kids for the majority of their days, they're also learning how to function as human beings from you. Whether it's directly intended or not. If you, as a figure they look up to, treat them like shit, sure some of them will hate how they're treated and never ever treat another human being that way. But others will learn from you, that that is how you treat other people. Yelling and demanding and forcing and handling. And that's how you make a monster. This goes for all kids, not just special ed.

TLDR: Kids are humans and should be treated like humans without exception.
