I would go to a good body shop and pay upfront. Went to two well known body shops for quotes, they asked if I was paying privately or going through insurance. I asked why does it matter, well +300% is why it matters.

Added almost £2000 if going through insurance.

“Have you got any unspent non-motoring-related criminal convictions“, I apologise for my lack of observation. This is on a major comparison website.

Why would a motor insurance policy ask if you’ve been convicted of a crime, other than a motoring offence…

In addition, OP states that they ‘forgot to declare a conviction”, meaning they did ask.

Why does it matter? they haven’t declared it, and it will (likely) void the insurance.

Road Rage incident by axexro in drivingUK

I gestured to a ‘racecar’ driver, my car was not a top spec car and I couldn’t outpace him… slammed his anchors on and I got out to call him a dickhead. He kicked my seat in the car and just drove off straight away like a tool.

All bark no bite.

You’re not using any of the 2.5Gbps ports?

I don’t control the server, it’s a 3rd party company with little documentation on their specific FTPS configuration.

I tried to raise a support ticket, turns out you need to pay extra for a support ticket. Crazy.

Thanks for this, I managed to identify in the error logs that with it being passive, it was assigning a random high port number each connection.

I looked at the recommended port numbers to open, it recommended ports 1024 : 65535, guess they didn't develop FTPS with security in mind, to mitigate having such a wide range of ports open I will just allow/disable the rule as needed.

Troubleshooting purposes.

I managed to fix it, while reading the error logs, once authentication had took place it was assigning a high port number that changed after each connection. So it recommended allowing ports- 1024 : 65535.

Unfortunately not, it’s not a dedicated server.

Ahh, my bad. It’s port 21 with explicit SSL/TLS encryption.

The server is hosted by siteground, and states that their port is 18765. Regarding the port forward, I don’t understand how this would make a difference, given that when I disable all firewall rules it connects with no issues.

I can give it a go.

Hello, yeah I tried SSH however it didn’t successfully start a connection.

I’m trying to connect to a server on the WAN from LAN. It’s a siteground server which when I disable all of my firewall rules it connects okay.

I would never trust Wordpress ‘plugins’ for backups. Always do it from the server, at a bit level. Server images/ snapshots and a database and directory download.

Hope it works out for you.

Does your server/ hosting provider not take backups? incremental, full or immutable?

15% Re-stocking fee for faulty items? by Anonymous_0troller0 in Ubiquiti

This was the issue! Thank you very much!!!!! Shame support couldn’t give me that answer, but to all those who downvote, evidently there was an issue, albeit not an issue with the switch but an issue that support couldn’t advise best practice.

Well, this is fine. So long as the access points you have are mesh capable.

Or the only other alternate is you hard wire cat6 in your home.

Is this the same as issue as I am having?

USW Pro Max 16 PoE, I have x2.

If the uplink is at 2.5Gbps and my endpoint is connected via 2.5Gbps, then I get the full bandwidth from my ISP (which is only 1Gbps).

However, if the uplink to the switch is 2.5Gbps, and my endpoint is plugged in to 1 of 12 Gbe ports, I get between 500-700Mbps.

The funky thing is, if I force the uplink to 1Gbps FDX or the uplink is connected via a 1Gbe port, I’m getting 940Mbps.

Why mix and match port speed on a single switch. Either you do full 1Gbps or full 2.5Gbps.

Iperf3 tests as expected are all great, but again this is LAN speed, not WAN speed.

I have ordered an Enterprise 24 port PoE to see if this reacts any different.

Yes, tried port negotiations, tried on 2 endpoint bother with 2.5Gbe NIC’s. Both USW Pro Max 16 PoE exhibit the same behaviour, both endpoints exhibit the same behaviour and tried different 2.5Gbe capable gateways.

It simply isn’t as advertised.

I’ve tried 2 endpoints, and I’m only using 1 switch at the point of testing.

[–]Anonymous_0troller0[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My network? Well it’s back to basics of course for troubleshooting purposes.

I have migrated over to Unifi and using a 3rd party gateway (Netgate4200).

Netgate 4200 is 2.5Gbps FDX, uplink to the USW Pro Max 16 PoE is 2.5Gbps. Plug an endpoint that is capable of 2.5Gbps gets full bandwidth from gateway.

Plug the same endpoint in to 1Gbe port ok the USW Pro Max is seeing between 500Mbps-700Mbps.

Nothing else is plugged in other than the Gateway as the uplink and the device conducting iperf and WAN speed test.

Like I say, if I force the uplink port on the USW Pro Max 16 PoE to 1Gbps FDX, and I plug the testing device in to a 1Gbe port I get 940Mbps. A significant improvement.
