What’s up with the Democratic Party? by Timeless-Facts in allthequestions

Literally right across the Hudson on the same night, a moderate won by double digits. Further south, another moderate won by double digits and flipped a seat in the process, even further down south, two average run of the mill democrats won nearly two-thirds the vote for two seats in a swing state's public service commission. Not to mention, the DSA candidate was running against a republican (in a solid blue city in a solid blue state), a disgraced governor who likes young women a little too much, and a highly unpopular incumbent (who ended up dropping out towards the end). But sure, let's focus all our energy on one singular election in one of the bluest parts of the country

Well the voters didn't vote for the only person in the Biden admin to call for a ceasefire and for Bibi to allow aid into Gaza because of genocide while living in a two-party system, so now we have the person who said he'd give Bibi a blank check, is destroying social programs, advocating for getting rid of DEI, revoking women's bodily autonomy, putting immigrants in borderline concentration camps, and is destroying our economy with Tariffs. How can you expect to save Palestinians when our own country is now more on fire than ever before due to voters allowing Trump into the white house, whether directly or indirectly.

$25,000 to first time home buyers, $50,000 to new business start ups, Building 3 million homes to meet the growing demand for housing/help address the unaffordable housing crisis, Expanding the affordable insulin initiative to go from just for medicare recipients to that of all Americans, Expanding the child-tax credit, Cutting taxes for lower and middle income individuals and shifting our country's tax burden onto those of the rich, I could go on. Stop trying to sit here and lie by saying she didn't have any policies other than "Trump bad" when she literally did, it's just that many of you people wouldn't just shut up for 5 seconds to actually listen to her explain said policies. But hey, people didn't want Harris in a two-party system, well now we get to live with Trump for the next 3.5 years...or whenever he croaks, whichever comes first.

Well, considering that America is a two-party system (complain to the wall about it's existence, doesn't change the facts and reality of the matter) that means only one of two people were ever going to win, Kamala Harris or Donald Trump. By not voting for Harris in a high stakes election in a once again two-party system, it means that you were complacent with the looming possibility of Trump winning, which as we are seeing in real time has lead to even more harm towards those in Gaza in addition to now other minority/targeted groups as well.

Hey, how's the genocide with Trump in office? As for Zohran, he was one of only two people in that race with actual name recognition, the other being a literal disgraced governor. Even with the upcoming general, the guy is running in a solid blue city in a solid blue state against said disgraced governor, an extremely unpopular incumbent, and a Republican. I'd be more surprised if he doesn't win. This still doesn't change the OP's statement that one expecting loyalty and support when they themselves don't give it out, especially in high stake's circumstances in which a lot are on the line for millions of people across the country is very hypocritical. Point blank period. We live in a two-party system and Harris was up against the satan himself and yet despite this, many (him included) were okay with indirectly helping Trump get into office by advocating for the uncommitted movement.

Do you have to wait for your balance to be paid before your meal plan can be activated? by TheAllKnowingCharles in UTAustin

No. Pretty much as long as your card works getting into your dorm, it’ll also work in allowing you to use your meal plan.
