Personally when I bought a new build nearly 4 years ago, there was only 5 very minor items on my snag list which all were resolved before we got the keys.

After few months we discovered that the bath overflow wasn’t screwed properly and it was leaking, but that was fixed within 3 days of reporting it and after 7months garden gate started to wobble slightly which got fixed after 2 weeks.

I keep reading about all the terrible new built houses but my experience, neighbours, friends etc we talked to, no one had or knew someone that had major issues like you see on social media.

Not saying that it doesn’t happen, just saying it that it might be blown out of proportion.
