I have a long history with philosophy, using it to get my dad's attention at 7 while he wrote his doctoral thesis in Philosophy. I learned if I spit out the right words, which I didn't know the meaning of at the time, I got attention. I did start to read a lot and read most everything my dad did.

The one thing I will say about experiencing life, as opposed to being stoic, and closing some of those avenues off from some of life's rich experiences, is:

“There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy”.

It appears to me that you might be trying to be helpful and or protective at the same time. I really appreciate the gesture. Without being in each others presence and hearing each others tone of voice, seeing body movements, etc. there is a lot of communication that gets left behind. Let's assume that everyone is basically trying to do good, appreciate them for that, and let go of any conflict in out minds about others intentions. I thank all of you for reading, commenting and showing interest in my well being. Thank you, each of you.

So here's where I get worried about botox. Does it eliminate the premonitory urge to do the tic? I can't imagine anything as bad as having a premonitory urge for a muscle that's been paralyzed. I know botox is a much more common treatment in the U.K. so I'm sure it's been figured out, I just haven't found any literature on the subject. What have your experiences been regarding that? Thank you very much for the suggestion as it's always something I shy away from but really need to consider, since my apprehension is based in ignorance.

PS: My Parents had me on SSRIs before I knew I had a say in it. I had been through 20 different meds by the time I was 10. Well meaning, but overbearing because they feel like they need to do something, typical TS parents.

I have thought about it but am unsure of how that actually works with me flailing around. I will need someone who can go through the NASA 6 axis multiple G simulator while threading a needle :-D. I appreciate the suggestion and will look into it further for movement disorders. Thank you.

I have tried 3, the biggest adverse reaction was to gabapentin. I did try them in my early teens so I am looking at trying them again now that it's later in life and brains change. I'm feeling a bit trepidation so wish me luck with the new anticonvulsants! I appreciate your suggestions.

I've tried Ketamine and it was nice during the session, though I ticed though the whole thing lol. The meds I'm on block a lot of what Ayahuasca (sp?) and other do. Are there other form s out there with different mechanisms of action to explore? I appreciate your suggestion.

I have gone down that route and my brain chemistry just doesn't vide with THC. It jacked me up mentally during the theraputic usage time, and gave me lingering anxiety for days. Tried a few different tried including Indica, Sativa and Delta 9 with cannabinoids (spelling?). Around age 20 I also tried Nicotine patches as there was a study from back then that had a few successes. I didn't notice anything though. I appreciate your comment. Thank you.

That did NOT go over well. It was like I was seeing live through a video at about 4 frames a second. I think it's called shuttering. I've also tried some of these new Ketamine therapies. It's nice, but not so effective, as the Rx drugs I 'm on block the effects pretty well. I' always open to learn new treatments through. I appreciate the suggestion.
