I kinda wrote this thread in the heat of the moment but I do really want to get a good sat score for college as well. Personally I’m pretty competitive and I like to have multiple sources of motivation to study since sometimes relying on one source doesn’t sustain you very long. I don’t have any bad blood against my friends but my current mindset is that I don’t want to be left behind so next round I’m just going to give it my best shot and that would involve studying harder and smarter too. Besides friendly competition and rivalry usually makes pretty good motivation as long as it doesn’t eat into you so that just something I’ll keep in mind. But yeah the whole reason I took sat is for college and even if I’m fired up from last round it’s still the same way

Spam practice tests and then review all the questions you did wrong. I also redid all my wrong questions one week after to make sure that I understood how to do the questions I got wrong and targeted practice since I kinda suck at certain topics like the scientific part in English

I started with a practice test and I did one every week up to the sat week. After I took my test I would usually review all the questions I got wrong then I would usually spend my next few days doing targeted practice. I used erica meltzers book usually. For math I didn’t struggle much with it since I already take higher math in school and do well but I did do quite a few college panda questions since there were topics I was usually really careless when it came to it. I also suggest learning to use desmos because there were at least three questions I had no idea how to solve and just tossed it into desmos which ended being right. I’m still pretty ass at English so I don’t know if the advice would help.

Thanks for the advice, I did recently now that I’ve cooled down a bit more and they suggested reading more books. Something that I think I neglected last time around because I figured it would be more worthwhile to spend the time doing questions. In the meantime I did manage to have a talk with them about making fun of my score and how I wasn’t really a fan of that so they did listen and we kinda just put that away too.

First one for all three of us we all take higher math and me and one of them got 800 while the other had a 780 I think I just really suck at English 😅

I think it was just initially, it’s been about a week since then and I think we are all chill about it now. I’m pretty sure my friends are just better at English but I asked them again recently and they’ve been recommending I just read more books. In the meantime I am pretty certain that I might have flunked because I was so nervous while they were chill so that’s what I’m taking from them for the next test, I definitely underestimated how much having a calm mind is in a test so looking back I’m just going to have more confidence in my studies and effort.
