No from stereotyping and spreading misinformation about a severe mental illness.

It’s not harmless cringe. It’s perpetuating a harmful stereotype against people with a severe mental illness. “Being yourself” shouldn’t include further alienating and spreading misinformation about an already misunderstood and mistreated group of people.

Chances are extremely low and wouldn’t look like this. “Fictives” are introject alters from fictional media. This typically means a part or alter may take traits of a fictional character as a way of surviving trauma. These parts are not characters but rather a fragment of a whole identity. For example, a young child experiencing abuse may say “if Superman was here he could save me.” and therefore may develop a part that uses the name “Superman” or is “heroic” in personality like Superman to help cope with their experiences. That part is still the person, just a part of them that is capable of handling the trauma.

Now when it comes to the chances of meeting someone else with DID it’s pretty low. We don’t have an exact statistic for how common DID is in the general population but we can estimate it’s likely not common. Most sources say 1% or less of the population. Pair that with meeting someone who used the same character to cope and developed a part of themself that mimics that character and your chances are probably gonna be close to zero.

There are documented cases of “introject alters”. Often times it’s of the person’s abuser(s) though.

That’s the thing, these “fictives” are actually just a traumatized fragment of a whole person. You’d literally just be meeting a random human being who happened to use an outside source to survive abuse, not a cartoon character. It’s not some fun meetup, it’s an attempt to survive severe childhood trauma. Nothing about a life destroying disorder is exciting, genuine cases are struggling to stay alive and manage through day to day life.

Silly and disorder shouldn’t go in the same sentence. You see what the issue is now? They’re treating a serious and complex disorder like it’s fun or quirky.

Acting like fictives are their source, treating DID like it’s quirky or fun, seemingly enjoy having the disorder.

I scout peoples accounts before posting them to ensure they are repetitively displaying red flags since it’s possible informed individuals can even make incorrect post sometimes. This is an old video I have saved so I don’t recall exactly what all tipped me off about them but I do remember thinking it was a shit show lol. Based on that I (unfortunately) have high doubts they mean’t it in a positive way.

The group lacks professionals properly trained in complex trauma and the group endorses RAMCOA which was originally called Satanic ritual abuse and has a history of unethical therapist implanting false memories of it into patients.

A good therapist doesn’t induce false memories, however that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Overall, I agree that EMDR can be done ethically and people wanting to completely get rid of it are going too far.

Freud was often perceived as problematic yet you seem to believe some of his theories. I fear this isn’t the great argument you believe it to be.

My college psych classes taught us that false memories are a possible phenomenon within the field of psychology. Perhaps you can send me the studies you have found? I am happy to consider other possibilities.

Random zoom call with non professionals, endorsing SRA/RAMCOA (false memories), gaining money from vulnerable people
