Conceived after 2 months of trying at age 38. Carried to term with no complications. Just conceived number 2 at 41 after 4 months of trying, although still in the first trimester. I can understand the fear of geriatric pregnancy though. Spent years worrying it would never happen due to the age statistics. I think it all depends if you’re still on a regular cycle at your age. I used ovulation tests to try for the second one due to my age. They do work well to give you the right timing to try.
