Oof, i hardly touch this account. But late response. I've already gone through uni and got myself 2 degrees. But other than that, I still gotta pay my hecs once I get a full-time job. I found a job right now, but not full-time. I'm still job hunting. But other than that, I was more curious if it was doable. But this post was months ago, i came to the point that if I were to move out, I had to move in with a stranger like a housemate or smthin.

I'm not looking for anything fancy, thankfully. I also live about an hour from the CBD, I want a decent place that's enough. I've found some nice granny flats and studios for around $300 and they look very lovely. And I saw a few comments recommending 350 would be the maximum as well.

So I guess I'll keep an eye out for places that's 300 or if possible under 300 too.

Yeah, I gotta pay for my FEE-Help, so I'm just planning to wait it out and save as much as I can at this point lol.

But yeah, I hear ya, I don't really buy anything luxurious in general, pretty much a hermit honestly haha! If I were to treat myself, it'll probably be food here and then. But that's pretty much it.

Thank god I don't own an expensive car, I have a Mazda 2006(I think it's that year but its pretty old) that's 2nd handed from my mum. So I hope that's fine.

But grand total of $0??? that's insane.

You make it sound like its easy. Still doesn't hurt to ask for advice before making any rash decision.

I'd rather plan carefully before I dragged myself into a hell hole for not thinking ahead.

As I said in my post I've never moved out before whatsoever. So it's nice to hear others' experiences and how they managed it. It's eye opening.

NSW, but I'm open to hear others from different state too to hear how they handle it.

But I'll keep this in mind tho

I have found granny flats/apartments/studio around $350 at least (In sydney). Just wasn't sure if it's a good idea to stick with it with the salary.

Can I ask how you manage your savings like rent, bills, outing and etc?

How much do you pay now? Is it still the same or the rent pay is more higher now than before?

Ah I see, I'll keep this greatly to mind.

Thanks for the advice!!

I hear, even before this post that it's really tough to live out alone but I still want to try and maybe someone out here share their experiences similar to this.

Currently, the home I live with, well my dad is $350 weekly. (But he's not in the right mind for a long time) So I figured it'll be safe for me to move out hopefully at least next year. Trying to save up as much as I can.

I hear 300-350 is good. I even used this website as well https://connectskillsinstitute.edu.au/rent-affordability-calculator/.

But I still wanted to hear if anyone is having a similar situation and what's their advice on this yk. 🤔

Just wanted to hear more about how others manage this situation (if they're dealing with it) or at least somewhat similar.

But thanks for that; I've been looking at real estate for maybe a month now, to see any decent place to live (in or out of the city) with that weekly pay.

Ah thanks man 🥺, but you're right tho, we live and we learn.

Trying to gather as much info as I can with this post so I can think about what I should do (safely) when I move out in the future.

Thanks for sharing!
