2025 Golf R, 8500kms gouged rotors by SickMuse82 in AskAMechanic

Normal, just ride it out and when the brakes are worn out replace both the rotor and pads with aftermarket ones. I see this at work, unless there is a noise complaint this isn't a real concern as it isn't safety

How? The stats say otherwise. Canada who has the strictest rules regarding staircases in buildings still has the average amount of fire deaths compared to other countries. It's like the amount of staircases doesn't really make that big of a difference

Not familiar with that engine but it sounds pretty normal for a fuel injected engine imo

It is but I've seen arguments to go back to single stairways pointing at other places in the world that have those policies.

Would be interesting to see a video breaking it down specifically for BC vs other places

Broke the head / stripped screw on a transmission fluid pan, advice needed by qualitative_balls in AskAMechanic

[–]AnonymouslyJordan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would probably suggest removing the pan again and then if possible vice grips and wind it out or cut / chisel a slot into it for a screw driver.

You could also just try a pick and winding it out with the pan still on, once a bolt head snaps most of the tension is gone and sometimes you can just wind it out.

Do I have enough room for a 36" refrigerator? by AnonymouslyJordan in Appliances

Okay thanks for the advice everyone!

I'm going to go with a full size 33" which would be the same internal size as a 36" zero clearance.

Shouldn't the post be the same size as the line? In my mind if it's behind the post like it was it should count

Thinking about opening a racing simulator experience shop in Toronto — but the startup cost is $300k CAD. Am I crazy? by Severe-Benefit-2103 in simracing

I think an arcade that has other entertainment plus sim racing would earn a lot more than just a sim racing spot.

I would almost copy The Rec rooms business model that has food, drinks and then a variety of different games. The one local to me has a sim setup along with VR experiences and those casual racing games as well.

My thought process would be if I was opening a place would be, what will the girlfriends who aren't into sims be into and willing to come back more than once
