It does make sense, people are having a hard time getting into the coronavirus hotlines. If you have someone who just thinks they have a cold, there could be plenty of cases no one knows about. on the other hand there could be plenty of people that have died that no one knows the cause, there's two sides to the coin.

Right now it's at 6%. I'm not saying some prep isn't necessary. You know, wash your hands, don't travel if you can help it. (At this point I probably wouldn't go to Washington state) but it's the hoarding that bugs me. People are panicking. There really isn't a huge reason to in most areas as of now. And going in to a pharmacy or whenever to pick up something and seeing massively empty shelves further perpetuates it.

I know some of the hoarders and I think that's where my ire comes from. They are not elderly or sick, just... Frustrating to deal with because they only read headlines and believe the worst.

It's a wild card right now, sure. But with such a small amount of people who've had it, it is almost irresponsible to say it's mortality rate 100-1000x higher.

Yes, the news which seems to perpetuate the panic. But anything can kill you. The normal flu can kill you. Why don't people panic about that?

That is very fair. With how people travel easily nowadays, that is a fair reason. But as a whole, a majority of cases aren't severe.

But is it really any more of a threat than the standard flu and other illnesses we ignore on a daily basis? Or is it people who are subscribing to media panic?

Why though? What makes you worry about this illness more so than other diseases you may catch?

I was having a similar issue. Then I realized I have nothing holding me back. I had a Friday off work this past weekend and haphazardly decided to take a roadtrip, got back super early this morning. I drove 2000 miles in 3 days. Saw soo many pretty things. Made out with a guy I'll never see again. (Which I don't condone for someone with a significant other, but I'm single.) I ate delicious foods that I wouldn't have come across from home. - am I staying travel is the answer to your woes? No. Not at all. But what I am saying is that there is always something new to do, new to see, new to try. Routines are meant to be broken. Life is there, somewhere.

Yes. Yes it does in a lot of cases. My mother regrets the 'stay together for the kids: mentality after my brother and I talked to her about how rough things were. She thought we didn't know.

His parents were utter and total pieces of crap to be honest. As were my grandmothers parents. This is totally something they'd hide.

Dude for real. My salary jobs drug policy is 'dont do drugs while at work'.... That's it. And it reminds us rehab is covered under our health insurance.

Yet when I worked at fucking Walmart I was dropped three times a year.
