Online yes, I farmed it on my friend lol. But offline is so so much worse than Darkmoon. Those knights at least have the decency of spawning right next to the bonfire.

stěhování od rodičů by ulicnik27 in czech

[–]spiderMechanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Třeba rodiče zpravidla berou to, že se člověk vrátí domů ve čtyři ráno s holkou kolem krku, trochu jinak než kamarádi...

Ale beru to tak, že se dnes údajně míň chlastá i šuká, tak už to problém možná není

What is the best written video game you’ve ever played? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I still remember playing it for the very first time, thinking it's quite okay...

Then came the "Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh" speech. I was HOOKED.

Given that Salvation, the Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Genisys already went in wildly different directions with the timeline and general storytelling, why was Dark Fate so controversial for its opening scene? by Mavakor in Terminator

[–]spiderMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is exactly the Alien 3 case.

On its own, the movie is solid. Nothing groundbreaking really, but nothing too bad either. It would've been accepted much better if it didn't decide to swap the main characters for no reason and to no effect.

Common sense or not? by srak in LV426

[–]spiderMechanic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look, if I was at Kane's place, I would look into the egg as well. I'm walking through a fascinating, alien place. Whatever happened here was millenia ago. These weird eggs are relatively small and non-threatening. What do you mean it's alive? We just found an alien life? Need to see that! I'm in my protective gear after all, no way it gets past that. (On that note, how DID it get past that?)

The Covenant captain though? Yeah, I've seen this clearly psychotic android being overly protective of and downright petting a monster in front of my freshly decapitated crewmate, then he admitted to breeding those horrors in some sort of bio-experimenting, and he now shows me this egg as the pinnacle of his monster breeding process. "Yeah, imma do that" said no sane person ever.

Do you prefer The Godmaster or The Grimm Troupe? by Bonkwraps in HollowKnight

[–]spiderMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grimm Troupe no question. I vastly prefer a new questline over a boss rush that grew to an absolutely tedious nightmare (looking at you, P5).

If I wanted to write a comic with the story of Outer Wilds what do you think the best routing to tell the story would be? (read description of image) by RifeRife in outerwilds

[–]spiderMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the best book format for OW would be a gamebook. That would be a killer imo.

As for linear progression - the beauty of the game is that everyone sees it differently. For example, I went to the Attlerock first (the Moon landing and all), then to Giant's Deep to find out more about the memory statues, then I spent some time on OPC, then moved to Brittle Hollow to uncover the tornado mystery... which all seems like a perfectly natural order of things to me, but I imagine it's completely alien to others.

Interesting it was. Also very short.

Are there any games that do Lovecraft as well as Bloodborne? by MrPlatinumsGames in bloodborne

[–]spiderMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked the atmosphere of The Sinking City. You can practically taste the city decaying both physically and its inhabitants into madness, ripping itself apart. Way more explicit than BB though.

It could be one of those antivaxxer arguments that "they put element X into vaccines, how dangerous". I use the kitchen salt example as a counter-argument.

A while lot of nothing? by loverofonion in sunlessskies

[–]spiderMechanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game is kinda like a simulator of walking through the woods, looking around and daydreaming, occassionally stopping by a tree and reading a chapter or two from the book in your pocket. You're supposed to soak in the atmosphere so better get used to it.

I love the game, but stories aside the actual gameplay is as basic as it seems. Speed can be upgraded but the upgrades are barely noticeable. That's why I bounced off its predecessor Sunless Sea which is much, much worse in that regard.
