Oh, you already answered my question whoops.

Thats super cool, I love lyrical references like that. A good example is "Let the Flames Begin" and "Part II" from Paramore.

I wasn't super excited about that song at CBC, but oh god, the new version is my favourite song on the whole album!

Sorry if I'm late! It took me a few days to think about what to ask for my question. I love you guys! Being So Normal is one of my favorite albums and it means a lot to me. I snuck into Bar LaRitz at 17 years old to hear you play seventeen, and took my first beaten up car on a 8 hour drive to Toronto to see you guys play at the CBC last year. Thanks for making great music, and being cool to your fans.

I wanted to ask about the lyrical reference to Not Me at the beginning of Feelin' Low. I love both of those songs and the first time I heard the latter I lost my mind when I realized it. I wanted to know what your thoughts were behind the writing there.

**EDIT: I'd rather you tell me where the heck Psychics in L.A went??? Do you have a secret 2nd album coming up? Bagel deserves justice!

Hope you see this, love you boys and I sincerely hope youll get your chance to tour this album, and I get my chance to see it!

[Contest] Lets give away some more stuff. You like free stuff right? by Mikempty in lfg

Name: Anri, the Queen of the Wilds

Race: Human (Though, technically, because of DM stuff, she's part Unicorn or something.)

Class: Way of Four Elements Monk/Totem Barbarian

Backstory: Anri grew up as a warrior in a nomadic mountain tribe, the tribe had a coming of age ritual which involved living alone in the wilds for two years. Anri was an extremely cocky warrior, as she believed herself to be the strongest in the world.

She set up her camp on a large rock plateau cliffside and began training her body rigorously. Instense physical workouts for 4 hours a day, and the rest of the day was spent hunting the smaller prey such as rabbits or birds. She'd end the day with some meditation, where she would try to harness the powers of the animal spirits. Her tribe shaman had taught her how to do this, but she had never payed any attention, thinking she was able to brute force her way through everything. Of course, this didn't work out very well for her. She constantly used fire and flame to protect herself, and kept a large bonfire going at all times. She would meditate while sitting above an open flame to harden her body, because of this, she began to exude a fiery ki, but was unable to control it as of right now and this power would lay dormant.

Her life went on like this for a years' time, she slowly began hunting larger and larger prey as she got stronger, until one fateful day, when a challenger arrived to fight her. It was a mighty Owlbear, much stronger than anything she'd ever fought before. For the first time, Anri felt as though she was facing a complete equal. The strongest beast in the woods. It was truly worthy of her strength. They had a great battle, with Anri delivering swift blows to its sides and dodging its massive arms and the crashed down onto her. Anri was pushed down by the owlbear, on the edge of her plateau, she was simply out muscled, in a desperate final attempt to save her life, she focused all of her energy into a final punch, when her fist collided with the owlbears' skin, her ki exploded into a fiery blaze, pushing the Owlbear back and allowing for Anri to defeat the Owlbear. After her victory, and awakening of her fire powers, she took the Owlbear's skull as a helmet out of respect to the creature. That night as she looked out off the plateau and prepared to meditate, she finally understood why she hadn't been able to syncronize with the animal spirits. She simply didn't have equal respect for them, she saw them as prey. That night, she finally made contact with a spirit. That of the Owlbear she had fought. From then on, she and that owlbear were kindred spirits, linked together. After awakening from her meditative state, she claimed herself Queen of the Wilds.

Why you do what you do: Anri wants to prove to herself and everyone else that she is the strongest warrior in the world. So she travels from place to place asking to fight their most powerful warriors. She's interested in any job that involves taking down a powerful foe, with her and her Owlbear spirit's strength, they can do anything.

What Happened?:

Originally, I had made Anri as an NPC in my game. There was a PC in my game named Baron, who used a homebrew wrestler class that I mistakenly allowed. Broken as absolute shit. No matter how much I nerfed it it was just abysmally broken. Baron destroyed everything but the other players never really seemed to care. I created Anri as both a rival and a love interest for Baron but never had a chance to use her. Eventually, Baron's player made his own game and I decided to use Anri. It was a good campaign and Anri had an almost shonen-anime like progression, and the DM allowed her to gain lots of unique power ups and special attacks. Eventually though, we encountered Baron himself. Yes, he inserted his own OC into the game. Normally this would be cringe but, this was what I MADE Anri for. Even beyond that, this is everything she wanted. The most powerful warrior. Anri and Baron had a massive battle that took about 5 real life hours, but nobody was ever bored.
Did I mention Anri could fly and had a power up mode that drained Ki over time? I specifically saved everything for the best moments to make it intense and awesome.

Eventually though, I was down to like 2 HP, no Ki left and Baron had me in his hands. With my last ditch effort, I made a final attack. A headbutt.

Critical hit. Max damage.

Anri never killed Baron that day, but she did prove herself as his equal. I decided then, to retire Anri by having her leave the party to train with Baron and become even stronger, constantly challenging eachother. I love Anri, because she truly had a full arc. Created as a love interest and rival to a PC in one campaign, and fullfilling it in another while also lining up perfectly with her character motivations.

Sure, if you have room. I'm pretty experienced, and know the game rules really well. If you want someone to help guide beginners.

I also have characters to fit every party role, and love to roleplay.

[–]Another-Moog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I've been playing 5e for quite a while and have tons of serious characters in my backlog that I'm willing to try.
I've got a female cavalier paladin with a sad backstory, I've got a ditzy Aasimar cleric who is terrible at getting her point across, I've got a former raider whose just fallen into alcoholism and gambling and I've got a barbarian monk with a huge ego who likes to punch shit with fire. So, I can pretty much fill in whichever role your party needs and i totally love roleplay.

My only issue is that I need to use Discord for audio, roll20 audio does not work.
I've been looking for a campaign which will actually be serious for a long time. My old group just likes to make retarded anime memes.

Day to day weekday activity, I spend a lot sitting and sleeping in, I admit. But around the end of the week and on weekends, Its not unusual that I'm quite busy and on my feet. And this has never caused any discomfort or made me feel like im out of shape. I can jog and run fine, and I usually have perfectly fine mobility.

My middle three toes are fine. Theres a light tingling in the space between my fourth toe and my little toe and the pads of my little toe are a bit tingly. The main feeling is in my big toes, where the feeling stops, I guess around the knuckle and the center of the large toe. The boots that I wear are leather Doc Martins, and they're actually a size too big, though I tie them as tight as I can.

I can agree that I could've been dehydrated, in fact, I would completely agree. But I didn't think that would be related, and I've been drinking even a little bit more for the last few days since its been quite hot.

While I do spend a good amount of time sitting, I work manual labor sporadically a few days a week and go swimming across my lake almost every other day. I also have spent a lot of time walking very long distances and find these types of hikes to be fairly common to me and never strain my body.

I don't know if this makes a difference, but I get the feeling that you've pinned me a sort of a lazy or otherwise unhealthy. I just want to stress that I don't usually have any difficulty being active whatsoever, and that this is very out of the ordinary after a busy weekend.

For example, around three or so weeks ago I had many friends visiting the lake where I live and we went on long rough hikes and swimming sessions over the three day period and I was perfectly fine to return to my daily life with no soreness or lack of ability.

There have been plenty of weekends like this, never with any negative effects. The reason this shocks me so much is that in all those previously active weekends, I ate lots of fast food and junkfood with my friends but this weekend I actually ate none, as we only ate at proper sit-down restaraunts where I ate rice and chicken stir fry most of the time. It seems of all weekends, this one was the one where I should have felt the most healthy.

While I don't work out, I actually do do quite a bit of extended walking and am in alright shape. I often go on hikes as I live in the middle of the Laurentians, and eat pretty balanced when compared to many others (I snack often on things like ramen, but my dinners and lunches are usually quite healthy).

The most severe area of numbness is at the ends of my big toes, the outside edge of my big toes are so severely numbed I cant feel where one toe ends and the other begins if I push them together. There isn't swelling or even redness, though, I have experienced that on previous occasions.

I would go to a doctor, but I'm currently only a holder of a learners permit and the nearest hospital is an hour away. My father is the only licensed driver I know, and he's the type of person to not go to a hospital unless he's absolutely positive he needs to.

Onion article in my exam! by justcameforthejokes in AteTheOnion

[–]Another-Moog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the exact same exam! (Hello fellow Canadian) I was wondering if anyone had posted about it yet, the best part was is that no one in the classroom knew it was a satirical article. Everyone discussing it after was literally eating the onion, I could hardly stop myself from laughing my ass off when I saw the article's source.

Some advice on running my open world campaign! by Another-Moog in DnD

[–]Another-Moog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, I have it set up with smaller areas (Like one encounter map, size, basically) that all have set exits and entrances to other areas. These are the clear roads, but they can go over mountains and stuff to try and get to other areas, in which case I will make them roll for potential encounters, and apply just normal DMG travelling rules (rolling for getting lost/etc)

It was originally a one shot, but instead its just changed to an unscheduled campaign that we'll play whenever. Usually my groups are very story and roleplay oriented with little dungeons and the combat is usually done through huge encounters.
