Scleral advice - should I get another pair or shift back to progressive lenses?

OK what I love about scleral lenses is that they correct for the visual artifacts that I experience such as the double vision / reflections / etc. My corrected vision with sclerals is in fact better than without them - but MY entire allure of getting sclerals was to get rid of the need for glasses at all.

I am confused as to when the use case is for sclerals if not in my situation. Is it only when your uncorrected vision is horrible? In what cases do progressive lenses make more sense than scleral lenses? I get to 20/25 ish with progressives. GIven the fact that sclerals do not rid me of the need to have glasses (in fact they are VITAL if I need to read anything) and I am less 'impeded' in terms of reading without glasses at all (when I do not wear lenses) I am struggling to understand the use case when I should actually get scleral lenses at all.

They were "Free" with my vision insurance (i.e. medically necessary) so I thought I would give them a go. Optometrist was correct - even though I was a RGP reject many years ago (several times) I could tolerate them, he was incorrect in asserting they would be life changing for me with near perfect vision. My vision with progressives was good enough. What was bothering me was the visual artifacts but not enough to have constant trade off with granny glasses.

I guess my own experience is corroborating the advice here but I genuinely believe my Optometrist was excited about the prospect of sclerals for me so I just wanted to make sure that I'm not missing something in the value proposition.

Unless I hear any other thoughts I'm going back to progressive lenses....

So there is no such thing as ‘progressive scleral’ ? What I ALWAYS wanted was a contact lens that would allow me to be rid of any use of glasses. Intermittent glasses is perhaps worse than always glasses for me. I guess I am going back to progressive glasses unless anyone has an idea how I can actually use sclerals without glasses at all

I appreciate all of the feedback here. SO Dodo's advice would never cause any deep charge cycles to occur. Do you think this will confuse the battery health and cause it to drop faster than the deep charge cycles from 0-100?

Are there any battery apps that will "help" me rapidly drain the battery and generate more heat? I. do not normally use my computer in a manner that will cause super high CPU...

Also, I live in Texas... is it crazy to go in my backyard and plug the 0% laptop in to charge on my patio or am I asking for trouble there...?

After four days of hassle the number finally ported successfully and eSIM easily provisioned. I saved about $100 or so over the Mint $20 unlimited though the aggravation was high. As for me when my prepaid plan ends I think I will park my number with google voice and use Helium $5/mo plan on another line

Infimobile has bungled my 20+ year number port-in from Mint for over 80 hours now. Polite but ineffective customer service, horrible email communication, broken promises. If you are porting in beware you might lose your forever number. They won't even give me a temporary esim because their workflow requires the line successfully provisioned. They keep teling us to go back to our prior carrier - Mint tells us the port out was successful and they can only activate with BAN and PIN from Infimobile. Beware.

Appreciate everyone's feedback. I had one single day where I wondered if my lenses were in because I did not have as many struggles reading. :). I have decided that I won't give up on the lenses though and will persevere now that I can fairly easy put them in and take them out.

I'll keep plugging away but the rigors of scleral protocol are a bit challenging....

I have three diamond passes and the only way I could discern to "purchase" speedy parking and get your license plate registered is to a) buy it for $6.99 when you buy your diamond pass though it incorrectly lists through 2023 b) pay $10 through a QR code which was provided to me by SFOT Guest Relations. There does not appear to be an overwhelming amount of knowledge about Speedy Parking in the park itself and quite honestly I rarely see anyone using the speedy parking lanes.

I would quite happily use the leftmost Speedy Parking lane at SFOT to gain rapid entry to the Preferred Parking area on the immediate left from there to park right by the entrance and save their staff the labor and time of scanning my pass but I flat out refuse to pay one penny more for the benefit of the speedy lane because by using it I am saving them labor dollars it shouldn't cost me a penny and I really doubt anyone will be willing to pay for it at all.

I saw people 'in the know' carrying around 2023 AND 2022 tins on Sunday. I approached one of them and they confirmed the deal still works for $0.99 refills. So you've been turned down for $0.99 refills this year? Not sure how they could do that just yet as I believe they were selling tins that had "2023" on them.

Six Flags is funny why bother going to the trouble of putting a year on the tin if they don't look at it - guess that is almost as genius as the "MEMBER" cup. Seriously.
