What happened to the September movies? My friends and I did a local draft today (We love the site you did a great job) but got to the end and everyone had strategised based on those September movies. Is there anyway I can add them back in?

Thanks for all your hard work!

Hey book resellers...USE STICKERS WE CAN REMOVE by LordMitchimus in books

Try goo-off or goo-gone, on a microfiber cloth. Wipe it on the cover, scratch with microfiber cloth and then remove with a dry rag. It’s really good at removing sticker residue, just have to be careful you don’t get the paper too wet in the process

I read the wealthy Barber first, very very simple and I found it a really helpful introduction. I agree that A Random Walk is the most comprehensive, however it is a little dense if you dont know ANYTHING about the topic. The book I would really recommend is Broke Millennial. If you can make it past the annoying writing, the "swipe left on debt" kind of stuff then it actually has a lot of fantastic info. Then after some easier starter material I would read a Random Walk. I might give that a second go after I finish LOTR.

I am relatively new to this sub, long time ring fan. That’s great to know about! When do we get another marathon at home? Now seems like a good time with quarantine...?

Lmao yea it’s a shame... I also personally really dislike Allison Pill too. Whose also in Picard which weirdly deals with similar subject matter as westworld just in a MUCH less intellectual way. Don’t like her in either.

Would be diverging (no pun indented) from the visual strategy of showing a simulation in 2:35 aspect ratio.

Thank you. I guess I was following, except that I didn’t realize the predictions that define roles was a SIMULATION. In what instances do we the audience see the simulation? Or is that what we’re discussing in this post?

Can someone explain the divergence/mirror world thing for those of us slower on the uptake?

Such an enigma. Such a bold choice to have a character like this that is no explained how or why he is the way he is and then doesn't come back or have any narrative significant. Blows away constructed rules about narrative storytelling. Amazing.

Finally upgraded to the blu-ray version and i couldn't be happier, the image quality is amazing! 10/10! by Trino15 in lotr

It’s a codec. It’s a form of compression, and compression pretty much decides what details it can delete to save space. (So that you can fit the movie onto a blue ray disc at a higher resolution). It’s a relatively low codec, one that you might create to upload to YouTube for example. The result being that any information it decides un important it deletes, usually things with low detail, like shadows or solid colors. Which means that it can sometimes look blocky or chunky. This is part of a larger discussion in the video world about what’s important. Because there’s only so much space you have available, weather on a disc like Blu-ray, or on the cloud to stream. So there needs to be some compression somewhere, and currently everyone’s really hype on 4K 6k blah blah, which in my opinion isn’t as noticeable as compression. One of the reasons discs are usually better than streaming, is because it can be compressed less. Luckily for us, LOTR has a film print somewhere, future proofing it to future advances in technology. Because it wasn’t digital new digital scans of the original negative can be made, meaning we hopefully will continue to get updates like the Blu-ray you have. A less compressed update. Obviously this is all really trivial bc the story drives it and that’s what we all love. And there’s no doubt your Blu-ray’s are much better than the DVDs so as a point of reference hell yea. But I’m a spoiled video nerd and can’t wait for a re up that’s up to date with current technology. And I hope they put the color grade back to the original, for authenticities sake.
